The Düsseldorf Messe Tower is buzzing with anticipation for boot 2023, which will once again cast its lines in Düsseldorf from 21 to 29 January. Around 1,500 exhibitors will be on board next year. "Our big thanks go to the international exhibitors who support us so excellently through their loyalty and enthusiasm for boot. Visitors to boot 2023 will be treated to a fireworks display of yachts, boats, fun, sport and action in an area the size of 31! football pitches in 16 exhibition halls. And let me be quite clear: all Düsseldorf trade fairs in autumn, winter and spring 2022/2023 will take place. We are well equipped both for energy bottlenecks and against the spread of viruses in the halls. Our exhibition halls are equipped with the latest high-performance particle filters, so-called hepa filters, which eliminate 99.9 per cent of viruses from the air, and the energy supply is also safe all round. As usual, the temperature in the halls will be 19 degrees throughout. Compared to the economic and geopolitical challenges of our time, boot 2023 deserves the rating of particularly valuable," explains Messe Düsseldorf CEO Wolfram Diener.
Boot Düsseldorf also scores points in 2023 with its special internationality and high quality. Boatyards, suppliers of diving equipment, manufacturers of boards and canoes as well as numerous destinations and accessories for water sports transform the halls in January into the largest global indoor boat show. boot Director Petros Michelidakis: "The whole world will be guests in Düsseldorf again. The list of exhibiting countries ranges from Australia to Cyprus. I am particularly pleased that numerous diving regions have once again found their way to us and will guide visitors away to exotic underwater worlds. For example, Egypt, Curaçao, Israel, Cuba, Mauritius, Oman and Palau will present their dream destinations. With the new diving tower and innovative equipment, Hall 12 is the hub of the diving scene." Both in terms of exhibition space and exhibitor numbers, internationality is almost 65 per cent, making boot a top value for trade fairs. In total, more than 60 countries will be represented in Düsseldorf in January.
Under the slogan "My business starts here" / “My freedom starts here”, boot Düsseldorf appeals to industry professionals and all fans of water sports and once again invites everyone to Düsseldorf who is active on or in the water to Düsseldorf with a wide range of products and services. A large number of boat and yacht premieres are expected. And the first yachts will already be travelling to Düsseldorf in December, many on their own keel or with a yacht transport across the Rhine directly to their temporary berth in the exhibition center.
Michelidakis: "I am very pleased that we have succeeded, together with the shipyards, manufacturers and dealers, in making boot the No. 1 meeting place for the industry once again. With very few exceptions, all of them will be docking again in their traditional home port in Düsseldorf in 2023. And visitors are looking forward to starting their water sports season again with boot. Online ticket sales for boot has started just a few days ago and we are already seeing good demand for tickets. boot Düsseldorf has been sorely missed by the industry and the scene over the past three years. So, it's all the nicer that we are now back in the market in our old size and strength and can provide the usual impetus again."

Starting signal for the first "blue innovation dock"
In addition to the numerous boat premieres and new trends, boot also leads the way when it comes to sustainability and knowledge transfer and gives visionary ideas a platform. The new sustainability forum "blue innovation dock" (bid) in Hall 10, which already had its successful kick-off as an online event during the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf in August, will set an international benchmark. European Boating Industry (EBI), headquartered in Brussels and with excellent contacts to European politics is also on board with bid as content partner. On all nine days of the fair, companies from and beyond the boating industry, as well as politicians and researchers, will deal with the urgent questions surrounding the future of the sector and share their know-how with the business visitors. "With the bid, we are giving topics such as sustainability, alternative fuels, circular economy, the use of alternative materials in boat building and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) a forum to present themselves to a broad public and discuss the industry’s transformation. Particularly impressive is the outstanding response from potential speakers and European policy-makers", says Philip Easthill, EBI Secretary General.
During the nine days of boot 2023, the bid will have a different theme each day. On the first Saturday of boot, the focus will be on the dialogue between politics and the industry. On Sunday, everything revolves around the challenges that decision-makers and the industry will face in the use of sustainable propulsion systems. International start-ups, investment and their innovative developments are on the agenda for Monday. Fuels of the future will be discussed on Tuesday. Sustainable materials for a successful circular economy will be presented on Wednesday. On Thursday, the bid focuses on sustainable tourism and water sports. Current technical innovations for more sustainability are the hot topic on Friday. On the second Saturday of boot, well-known NGOs will present themselves to the public and enter into dialogue with the industry. Committed marine activists and boating enthusiasts will be in the hot seat on the last Sunday and answer questions from the public.
