Torqeedo, a leading company for electric propulsion systems on the water, is introducing its new electric outboard motors for leisure use at boot Düsseldorf 2026. At booth B22 in Hall 10, the company will showcase the Travel XS as well as the updated Cruise 3.0 (48 V) and Cruise 6.0 (48 V) motors.
Advanced electric motors for a wide range of applications
The new Travel XS is at the heart of the trade show presence. With an output of 700 watts, the compact motor effortlessly propels small dinghies and provides an affordable entry point into electric boating.
The Travel Smart Package combines the motor with the new Travel Battery XS (648 Wh), which integrates seamlessly into Torqeedo’s Travel Family. The package will be available early 2026.
In addition, the new Cruise 3.0 (48 V) and Cruise 6.0 (48 V) models will be showcased. Thanks to the new 48-volt platform, the Cruise motors can be effortlessly integrated into Torqeedo’s comprehensive component ecosystem. Torqeedo also takes a holistic approach to manufacturing: up to 95 percent of the shaft head components are made from recycled ocean plastic.
“By using recycled materials such as ocean plastic, we’re deliberately going a step further. The transformation of boating starts on the water, but it doesn’t end with the motor. That’s why we keep refining our products and processes and take a close look at which motor components we can replace with high-quality recycled materials,” says Heiko Vietmeier, CEO of Torqeedo.
For enhanced comfort on the water, the new Cruise motors feature a folding tiller with a high-resolution display. The motors can be easily connected to Torqeedo’s advanced TorqView app via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, giving users real-time access to performance data and other relevant system information. The new Cruise motors provide reliable propulsion for displacement boats of up to six tons and sailboats of up to 35 feet.
A unique visitor experience
On January 17 and 18 at 2:00 pm, Torqeedo will present its new products for the season as part of “Electric Horizons 2026”. The session provides in-depth insights into the latest innovations and their practical applications. As a special highlight, one Travel XS will be raffled.
Another interactive highlight awaits visitors at the Torqeedo stand in Hall 10:
During the Clean-Up Challenge, guests can virtually steer the powerful Travel XP on a boat simulator while symbolically collecting plastic waste from the water. With an input power of 1.6 kW, the Travel XP is the flagship of the Travel family and is ideally suited for heavier boats weighing up to two tons. Torqeedo experts will be available throughout the trade show for personal consultations and to answer questions.
In addition, Heiko Vietmeier, CEO of Torqeedo, will give a technical presentation titled “Charged for Change – Transforming the Marine Industry” on Saturday, January 17, from 3:00 to 3:30 pm at the “blue innovation dock” in Hall 10.
Driving the decarbonization of maritime transport
At boot Düsseldorf, Torqeedo is sending a strong signal for a responsible approach to the world’s waterways. As part of the Yamaha Motor Group, Torqeedo is actively contributing to the decarbonization of maritime transport.
The company has also announced that Nozomu Miyajima, Senior General Manager of Sales & Marketing Section Marine Business Operations at Yamaha Motor, has joined Torqeedo’s management board, replacing Takayuki Sato. He will now lead the company alongside CEO/CFO Heiko Vietmeier.
