The 62-metre sailing superyacht SIMENA is now en route to Palma de Mallorca, where she will make her world debut at the Palma International Boat Show 2026 (29 April to 2 May), marking her first public appearance. She is set to be the largest yacht on display at the show.

A modern bluewater ketch

For ARES Yachts, SIMENA is their first step into the 60-metre-plus segment and the most ambitious project to date from the Antalya-based shipyard. Built in a steel-carbon composite construction to RINA Charter Class C requirements, she combines true bluewater capability with refined luxury.

Taka Yacht Design drew the lines with one eye on classic ketch silhouettes and another firmly on performance. The result is a design that balances classic proportions with sailing capability. Interiors by Design Unlimited seamlessly merge tradition and innovation.

The yacht is powered by a hybrid propulsion system, optimised for efficiency and performance across a wide range of cruising conditions. In electric mode, SIMENA allows silent cruising at speeds of up to 8 knots, with a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 7 knots on e-motor.

When operating on diesel power, the yacht reaches a top speed of 14 knots and offers a range of 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 9 knots. During sea trials, SIMENA achieved 14 knots under sail, with an expected top speed of 16 knots under sail in 20 knots of wind at a 100-degree wind angle.

Traditional teak decks and varnished sipo mahogany detailing evoke the golden age of sailing, while modern comforts are discreetly integrated throughout. Accommodation is for up to 12 guests and nine crew, with a forward main-deck owner’s suite occupying a prime position.

Global recognition

Recognised with a 4-star ‘superior’ SEA Index rating – a certification developed by the Yacht Club de Monaco and UBS Group, verified by Lloyd’s Register – SIMENA ranks among the most environmentally efficient superyachts in her class. This confirms her hybrid propulsion significantly reduces carbon emissions without compromising performance. The yacht has also earned two nominations for the prestigious Explorer Awards by La Belle Classe Superyachts, highlighting her contribution to innovation, exploration, and environmental responsibility.

Ranked among the 25 longest sailing superyachts worldwide, SIMENA is currently available for sale exclusively through Northrop & Johnson. She will stay in the Mediterranean prior to her departure to the Palma International Boat Show and will be available for private viewings for clients and brokers upon request.
