A leadership change at Turquoise Yachts, one of Turkey’s leading shipyards specialized in the construction of superyachts in steel and aluminum. After six years as Chief Executive Officer, Patrik von Sydow will step down on November 30th, 2025, concluding a period marked by significant corporate transformations and continuous industrial growth.
During his tenure, Turquoise successfully completed the transition of its shareholding structure and strengthened its position in the global market through numerous sales, new builds, and deliveries of large yachts. The shipyard expressed its appreciation to von Sydow for his dedication and leadership, confirming his collaboration until the end of November as Company Advisor to ensure a smooth management transition.
Burak Akgül, already a Board Member and Executive Director of the shipyard, takes over the role of CEO with immediate effect. Well known throughout the international yacht industry, Akgül brings with him over thirty years of experience, much of it gained in Italy, where he served as CEO and General Manager of Perini Istanbul-Yildiz, part of the Perini Navi Group, for which he worked for more than twenty years.
His background represents a rare combination of global vision and in-depth knowledge of Italian yacht building, qualities that make him particularly suited to lead Turquoise through its next phase of development. Akgül’s appointment marks an important step in the shipyard’s strategic strengthening and international consolidation, as the brand continues to stand out for innovation, build quality, and design capability in the custom superyacht segment.
Supported by a highly skilled team and an international network of stakeholders, Turquoise Yachts is ready to enter a new stage of growth, confirming the Turquoise Family as the driving force behind the company’s success.
