After more than twenty years of experience in the design and refit of exploration yachts, Pastrovich Studio presents X-BRYCE, a new explorer yacht concept that reinterprets the way of living at sea in a contemporary key. Designed by architect and yacht designer Stefano Pastrovich, X-BRYCE was conceived as a synthesis between design research, hands-on experience at sea and constant dialogue with yacht owners, with the aim of creating a vessel capable of offering freedom, authenticity, and a deep connection with the surrounding space.

The project stems from the experience gained during the refits of M/Y Zulu (36 m) and M/Y Lady Jade (41 m), two yachts used by family owners for long periods of navigation. These experiences led to an in-depth reflection on how space is truly lived onboard: the distribution of internal and external volumes has been studied to eliminate the sense of confinement typical of low-tonnage yachts, creating an open and fluid onboard experience.

“Bryce Canyon is one of the most intense places I have explored in the world,” says architect Pastrovich. “I wanted to capture that sense of freedom and vastness and translate it into a design capable of offering the same experience at sea.” From this inspiration comes the name X-BRYCE, expressing the desire to translate into naval architecture the sense of openness and harmony with nature that the designer aimed to recreate on board.

X-BRYCE is conceived as a “loft on the sea”, where the perception of space is shaped through light, materials, and visual continuity between interior and exterior. In Pastrovich’s typical design approach, the furniture consists of movable elements that allow the owner to adapt the layout with millimetric precision, creating living areas that continuously evolve. This philosophy makes the interiors a natural extension of the owner’s lifestyle, an environment that transforms according to the needs of those who spend long periods onboard, offering comfort and authenticity.

The yacht is built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, ensuring strength, stability, and safety even during long crossings. With an overall length of 39 meters, a maximum beam of 9.6 meters and a draft of 2.4 meters, X-BRYCE reaches an approximate gross tonnage of 460 GT. The design prioritizes efficiency, comfort, and seaworthiness over pure speed. Engine options range from 800 to 1000 hp, providing a maximum speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots, with autonomy optimized for long passages and fuel consumption carefully managed.

Propulsion options include: 2 × Caterpillar C32 ACERT (2×1000 hp) or 2 × MAN D28 (2×800 hp). Fuel capacity is 45,000 liters and freshwater capacity is 12,000 liters, confirming the project’s long-range and exploratory vocation.

The concept is offered in two main versions, designed for different types of owners. The 39–43 meter version is dedicated to families wishing to optimize the balance between internal volume, construction cost, and operational efficiency. It includes an owner’s suite, four guest cabins, spacious lounge and dining areas, a panoramic bow lounge, and an SPA beach club. The 47-meter version, aimed at the emerging fractional ownership market, offers up to ten double cabins for twenty guests, with shared spaces designed to maintain both privacy and comfort. The layout ensures maximum usability, with open-plan living areas extending from the main deck to the upper deck and dining spaces distributed from bow to stern.

With X-BRYCE, Pastrovich Studio proposes a new approach within the 39–47 meter segment, combining generous volumes, solid construction, and contemporary design. The introduction of the fractional ownership concept into the world of explorer yachts represents an innovative step, opening the sector to a more accessible and shared way of owning and experiencing a yacht, without compromising on quality or customization.
