Omikron Yachts, a brand under the renowned Olympic Marine shipyard, is making its first appearance in the United States at the 2025 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). The company will present the OT-60, a yacht that has received multiple awards in Europe, to the American public. This event signifies a new phase in Omikron's efforts to promote sustainable Mediterranean cruising on an international scale.
The OT-60 has been praised across Europe for its innovative approach to seafaring, blending the quiet efficiency of sailing with the comfort and convenience of a modern motor yacht. The yacht was developed in collaboration with leading industry experts, featuring a custom Eco-Cruise hull by Juan Kouyoumdjian and design elements by Lorenzo Argento and Ciarmoli Queda Studio. Constructed at the Omikron shipyard in Lavrio, Greece, the OT-60 is designed for optimal space, functionality, and fuel efficiency, offering a range of 1000 nautical miles at 8 knots while consuming just 1.25 liters per mile.
Following the success of the OT-60, Omikron has announced the development of a larger model, the OT-80. This new yacht is designed as a 'local explorer,' capable of ocean-crossing and suitable for shorter voyages, providing comfort and confidence in various weather conditions.
In the U.S., Omikron Yachts is represented by Jono Fleming, based in South Florida. Fleming joins the brand's expanding network of international partners, aiming to introduce American yacht owners to a new long-range yachting experience inspired by the Eastern Mediterranean lifestyle.
Nikolas Dendrinos, Chairman of Olympic Marine, expressed enthusiasm about entering the U.S. market, stating that the OT-60 embodies a universal desire for a mindful and aesthetically pleasing way to travel by sea. The debut at Fort Lauderdale, supported by local partners, is a pivotal moment in the shipyard's history.
Omikron Yachts will host a press event at FLIBS for the U.S. premiere of the OT-60 and provide updates on ongoing projects, including the OT-80 and the Argo 54 sailing superyacht. The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 30, at 4:00 PM at Bahia Mar - B Dock B 230.
