A private keel-laying ceremony for the first RAW 110 was held at Cantiere delle Marche’s facilities in Ancona, marking a significant milestone in the construction of this new explorer yacht.
The keel laying represents a highly symbolic moment in the shipbuilding process — the point when a vessel truly begins to take shape. The keel forms the yacht’s structural backbone, the foundation upon which every component is built. In maritime tradition, this ceremony is seen as the vessel’s birth, symbolizing strength, stability, and the promise of her future life at sea.
The ceremony for RAW 110 was no exception: a private yet emotional event celebrating the start of a new journey for both the yacht and her owner.
Among the aspects that most appealed to the owner are the refreshing aesthetics developed by Giorgio M. Cassetta, with whom a strong affinity was immediately established. From a functional standpoint, the owner particularly valued the generous living volumes, the fluid continuity between interior and exterior spaces, and the yacht’s technical reliability.
Several specific requests were integrated into the design from the start, including a large tender, ample storage areas at the bow for water toys, and a dedicated bicycle area on the aft beach, enclosed by bulwarks, to allow the owner to enjoy cycling — his favorite sport — even while on holiday aboard.
“Our goal is not to impress with eye-catching features but to create projects that stay true to their mission: ensuring comfortable and safe journeys over long distances,” said Vasco Buonpensiere, Co-founder and CEO of Cantiere delle Marche. “RAW is the pure expression of this philosophy, a project born from our relentless commitment to the evolution of yacht design. We never settle for past achievements — we keep moving forward, seeking new solutions and charting new courses.”
With the keel of the RAW 110 now laid, Cantiere delle Marche reaffirms its dedication to building robust, efficient, and authentic explorer yachts — vessels designed for long-range cruising, grounded in engineering excellence and Italian craftsmanship.
