U-Boat Worx's new Super Sub has successfully passed all sea trials and testing, earning full safety approval from DNV, a leading maritime certification body. This achievement marks the official introduction of the high-speed luxury sport submersible into global operation.

The Super Sub, designed for private use, represents a significant advancement in underwater performance. It is the fastest and most advanced submarine built for private owners, featuring 100kW of horizontal thrust and a maximum speed of 9 knots. The submersible's maneuverability is comparable to that of dolphins, allowing for inclines and declines of up to 45 degrees.

DNV certification, recognized as the highest standard of safety in the maritime industry, was achieved through rigorous evaluation. DNV surveyors were involved throughout the construction process, ensuring compliance with stringent safety, environmental, and vessel integrity standards. This certification continues U-Boat Worx's tradition of delivering submersibles with DNV classification over the past 20 years.

According to Wilbert Beilsma, Commercial Director of U-Boat Worx, the Super Sub marks a major leap in personal submersible capability. The certification is a testament to the engineering excellence and dedication of the U-Boat Worx team, enabling private owners to explore the ocean at unprecedented speeds.

The Super Sub is equipped with a hyper-precise sonar system that continuously scans the seabed, allowing the submarine to autonomously adjust its trajectory. This ensures safe navigation and stability, even at depths of up to 300 meters.

Roy Heijdra, Head of Marketing at U-Boat Worx, emphasized that the Super Sub offers more than just a submarine experience. Its ability to dive, accelerate, and navigate at 9 knots provides a unique underwater experience.

With the certification complete, the first Super Sub is set to embark on its maiden voyage, showcasing its performance capabilities. The submersible is available for purchase as a new build or through wet lease options, making high-speed underwater exploration accessible to private owners, yacht programs, and expedition operators.

The Super Sub's advanced technology also holds potential for adaptation in search-and-rescue missions and large-area surveying, thanks to its operational range of 10 nautical miles.
