With the Explorer 34M, unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, Ocean King takes a further step in refining its stylistic identity within the explorer yacht segment.

The project stems from the naval architecture developed by Hydro Tec under the direction of Eng. Sergio Cutolo, while the interior concept bears the signature of BurdissoCapponi Yachts&Design.

Rather than a standalone interior design exercise, the project establishes a coherent onboard spatial narrative. The stated objective is to distinguish this model from other Ocean King lines while maintaining a clear connection to the shipyard’s technical DNA.

The visual language of the Explorer 34M is based on recurring elements that organize space in a recognizable way. The square grid becomes a compositional matrix: structuring walls and ceilings, organizing volumes, and introducing a principle of architectural rationality.

Circular lighting geometries balance this orthogonal framework, softening its rigidity, while vertical metal mesh partitions suggest separation without fully enclosing spaces. The result recalls the technical vocabulary of ocean-going vessels, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

Walls finished in Cement—described as an innovative and eco-conscious material—reference a Brutalist aesthetic. Semi-transparent surfaces enhance spatial continuity, avoiding traditional compartmentalization and maintaining an ongoing dialogue between environments.

The lighting concept is developed on multiple levels: concealed linear lighting integrated behind the grids highlights architectural features, while tubular circular elements define a distinctive stylistic signature. Adjustable spotlights integrated within the tubular structures provide more focused illumination, and backlit vertical mesh volumes serve both lighting and storage functions.

Decorative wall fixtures by DCW Éditions complete the composition, reinforcing the project’s luxury–industrial character.

Material research is expressed through grids, perforated metal surfaces—such as the bed headboard panel—and textured finishes that evoke the robustness and functionality of true explorer vessels, refined through careful detailing and finishing.

From a spatial planning perspective, the Explorer 34M favors a fluid sequence of environments. The absence of rigid compartmentalization allows for continuous spatial perception while maintaining more intimate, protected areas, as seen in the circular sofas and rounded lighting elements.

Solutions such as the “transparent” walk-in wardrobe or the salon’s side cabinetry reflect this philosophy: functions integrated into an open spatial flow rather than confined by opaque closures or solid partitions.

With the Explorer 34M, BurdissoCapponi Yachts&Design contributes to defining a clear stylistic direction for Ocean King, where the explorer spirit remains central but is interpreted through a more rigorous and contemporary architectural language, consistent with the evolution of the segment.
