EFFEBI NEW PROJECT has presented ICONA 70 at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the launch model of the "ICONA inspired by Mangusta" brand. The company was founded by the Balducci family and Stefano Arlunno, co-founders and partners. The yacht is built to Overmarine Group standards.

The design comes from Igor Lobanov, who created the styling language of the Mangusta REV range. Over roughly 18 months he developed exteriors, interiors, ergonomics and helm station as a single integrated project. The dark glazed superstructure runs into a sharply tapered hardtop, and the windscreen has no conventional pillars. The engine room air intake is 3D-printed with a honeycomb structure. The bow mooring area, anchor housing and side tender bay, sized for a jet tender of up to 3.45 metres, are kept out of sight.

Maximum beam is 6.2 metres, with internal height reaching 2.85 metres in the central section. The three cabins have an internal height of 2.10 metres and continuous hull windows. A central corridor runs from the stern platform to the cockpit, spans two levels and continues into the glazed capsule. The lower-deck living area is lit by large skylights. The owner's cabin is full-beam, with an open bathroom.

Aft, two wings open outwards and take the beam beyond 9 metres, creating a 40-square-metre platform at water level. A transformable integrated stairway extends the route down to the sea. L-shaped sunpads incorporate transformable tables with automatic movement. Two elements modelled on vintage guitar amplifiers house an outdoor galley with fridge, ice maker and barbecue on one side, and a DJ console with stowage on the other. The deck has an audio system and multicolour LED lighting.

The helm station has no physical controls or buttons. The console integrates four 19-inch touchscreen displays and four driving seats. Onboard systems include advanced monitoring, joystick control, dynamic positioning, forward-facing live sonar and docking assistance technology.

Propulsion comes from three Volvo Penta engines in two available configurations. The high-output D13 IPS1350 version delivers 1,000 hp, or 735 kW, per engine. In that configuration the stated figures are a top speed of around 36 knots, a cruising speed of around 30 knots and a range of around 270 nautical miles, subject to final specification and operating conditions. The yacht carries a joystick, Dynamic Positioning and Garmin technology with Easy Docking Advance Assisted. Construction is in GRP.

The Overmarine Group technical department, led by Nicola Onori, applied the construction methods used on larger yachts, while hull design was developed with Studio Arnaboldi. The brief came from an owner requirement: maximum space and comfort within a 70-foot platform, usable with family or a minimal crew.

Customisation starts with exterior and interior colour combinations drawn from the automotive world. For owners, the brand has introduced Commission, a programme based on direct collaboration between owner and design team.
