Team Sierra is set to join the UIM E1 World Championship presented by PIF, the world’s first all-electric raceboat series, as it expands ahead of the start of the 2026 season.
Following the recent announcement of Team Monaco, Team Sierra further strengthens E1’s growing international teams roster and reinforces the Championship’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and ocean preservation.
Team Sierra joins a Championship that has raced across four continents in 2025 and now reaches audiences in more than 140 broadcast territories worldwide. As E1’s global footprint continues to expand, the arrival of the latest team signals the next wave of growth for the series.
Majority-owned by the Ozmen family, Team Sierra draws its name and spirit from Sierra Enterprises, the family’s holding company, which is home to a portfolio of pioneering companies dedicated to advancing technologies that improve life on Earth and beyond.
The E1 RaceBird’s striking launch livery takes inspiration from Sierra Space’s flagship Dream Chaser®️ spaceplane, a reusable commercial vehicle designed to carry cargo and, in the future, crew to low-Earth orbit and return safely with runway landings.
This partnership brings together the Ozmen family’s long-standing mission of driving transformative, sustainable innovation with the E1 Championship’s vision for a cleaner, electrified future in marine mobility.
The team’s figurehead, pilots, race livery and team principals are all set to be announced in due course.
Team Sierra will be led by Ozmen’s family principal Kerem Ozmen and Dominik Madani, who joins as co-owner.
Alejandro Agag, founder and Chairman of E1, added: “E1 is expanding with remarkable momentum, and each new team brings a fresh story, a new audience and a shared belief in our mission of sustainable innovation. Team Sierra embodies that momentum perfectly as we prepare for another season that will showcase the power of electric racing to inspire change.”
Rodi Basso, founder and Chief Executive Officer of E1, said: “Team Sierra represents the kind of ambition, innovation and perspective that continues to drive E1 forward. Every addition to the grid strengthens our collective mission to advance clean technology and redefine competition on the water. Their arrival underscores how fast the Championship is growing across teams, continents, audiences and broadcast partners.”
Kerem Ozmen, owner Team Sierra: “The E1 platform provides an opportunity to lead the transformation of marine mobility through advanced industrial technology, in a competitive ecosystem that accelerates R&D and commercial adoption.
"Our vision is to leverage the championship’s technology incubator role, pushing boundaries in electrification and demonstrating how sustainable innovation can deliver superior performance, operational efficiency, and a new standard for the industry. Building this team is about pioneering industrial solutions that have measurable impact”
Dominik Madani, co-owner Team Sierra: “I see E1 as a Championship with exceptional potential, combining sport, sustainability, and social influence to raise global awareness and accelerate progress in marine mobility and ocean preservation.
"As owners, we’re dedicated to innovation and long-term value creation, driven by a shared passion for boating and the ocean, and committed to shaping the future of sports while making a positive impact on the world.”
