The Real Club Náutico de Palma and the Real Federación Española de Vela (lit. Spanish Sailing Federation) have published the Notice of Race for the 43rd edition of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE 2025, four months ahead of schedule, with the celebration of the ORC European Championships 2025, which will be held as part of the Mediterranean regatta, set to be the most important of the decade.
As was the case in the 42nd edition held this year, the Saturday prior to the beginning of the 43rd edition, on 26th July will be the official opening day with the traditional ‘cutting of the ribbon’ ceremony attended by the local and regional authorities, the regatta’s main sponsor and the president of the Real Club Nautico de Palma. Racing will begin on Tuesday 29th July and will finish on Saturday 2nd August. The prize giving ceremony will be held on the last day, presided by HM King Felipe, at Ses Voltes, located at the foot of Palma cathedral.
“We are expecting the 43rd edition of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE to be the most important in the history of the regatta, with the celebration of the ORC European Championships,” declared Manu Fraga, the Real Club Nautico de Palma’s director.
