The second day of the sixth event in the Melges 24 European Sailing Series 2024, Act 2 of the Italian Melges 24 Tour and Italian Championship, came to life with exhilarating races managed by Fraglia Vela Riva. The standout performer was Ante Cesic's Razjaren (today 1-1-1), who succeeded in scoring three bullets and took the command of the provisional ranking, albeit tied on points with Luka Sangulin's Panjic (2-2-9), the early leader.
Amid the typical double-digit Ora winds of Lake Garda, the intense competitiveness of the Croatian Melges 24 Class was on full display, establishing itself as a benchmark for all Melges 24 competitors.
With two races remaining, Akos Csolto's Chinook (4-3-4) holds the third position overall, demonstrating its leadership in the highly competitive Corinthian fleet. Also, Michael Tarabochia's White Room (5-4-8), helmed by his son Luis, and Sergio Caramel's Arkanoé (7-9-3) are excelling in the Corinthian division. They are placed second and third, respectively, in the rankings dedicated to non-professional crews.
Looking ahead, the final day of racing will commence at 12 p.m., with the two remaining races to complete the eight-race program (no starts after 2:30 p.m.).
The event will conclude with a prize-giving ceremony, where Luca Ferron, a naval artist renowned for his "sailing" creations, will donate one of his works to the overall winner.
