Miami, FL, January 27, 2022 - Following a successful European campaign last summer, the Persico 69F fleet will make a big splash in Biscayne Bay's Bacardi Winter Series. The event consists of six boats racing at high speeds and crewed by 3 or 4 sailors per team.
The boat is a full carbon high-tech racing machine, capable of speeds up to 34 knots, while also remaining stable and easy to handle even by a beginner crew. The recipe is simple, three or four crew members, pure joy, sustainability and performance.
After years of development by a group of Olympic sailors, naval architects and youth racers, Team 69F has developed a stable racing boat that demonstrates that foiling is not only for America's Cup sailors and that any sailor can, and should, foil.
Team 69F is a spectacular and sustainable organization that has taken the regatta circuit by storm. The concept is simple. The boats can are chartered on a "sailing as a service" model; 69F provides the training, the shore crew and even the coach ribs. This model allows over 100 regatta days in a year. This unparalleled intensity has built a community of professional athletes, owners, and fans extraordinarily linked to the 69F brand activities and projects.
"We are extremely proud to participate in this great sports event that is the Bacardi Winter Series. We will have teams and high-level sailors from all around the world, including, Olympic gold medalist Jonas Warrer, multiple Olympic sailor Christian Peter Stephensen Lübeck, three times ORC world champion Joan Navarro Guiu and many other talented athletes. We could not have imagined a better group for our first event here in Miami."
Alex Sastre, CEO 69F America
"We have built an innovative high-performance boat, and designed two captivating and sustainable competition formats designed to train future young flying sailors and to entertain everyone, from pros to amateurs. We have also created an attractive brand image with the aim of communicating key values such as passion, energy and fun. Now, we have founded 69F America, which will allow us to run both regatta formats in Miami and Newport. Next year, we plan to start fruitful collaborations in Asia, Africa and Oceania to cover all the continents.
