Brabus is expanding its presence in the yachting sector through a new strategic partnership with AB Yachts, a brand of Next Yacht Group. The agreement will lead to the development of the first Brabus yacht range, combining the German luxury brand’s distinctive design language with the Italian shipyard’s expertise in engineering and building high-performance motor yachts.
The collaboration will be officially unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, taking place from 23 to 26 September, where the first yacht developed under the partnership will make its world debut. The two companies have also announced a second world premiere for the 2027 edition of the Monaco event.
The stated objective is to create a new interpretation of luxury yachting by combining Brabus’ design DNA and “Masterpiece” philosophy with AB Yachts’ expertise in designing and building high-performance Italian yachts. The project is aimed at owners seeking performance, bespoke craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
The partnership also marks a further expansion of the Brabus Marine portfolio, which already includes collaborations with Axopar in the day boat segment and Sunreef Yachts in the luxury catamaran market. Through AB Yachts, the brand now enters the larger yacht segment while maintaining its focus on design, engineering and tailor-made individuality.
“AB Yachts has exactly the kind of energy we’re looking for: the drive to challenge what is possible and create something that instantly feels special,” said Constantin Buschmann, CEO and owner of Brabus. “This collaboration opens a completely new dimension for us, bringing together our design philosophy, our passion for individuality and detail, with AB Yachts’ outstanding expertise.”
According to Giorgio Mattei, Deputy Chairman of Next Yacht Group, the partnership was built on an immediate mutual understanding: “From our very first meeting, we recognised in Brabus the same passion for innovation, performance and bold design that defines AB Yachts. Together, we are creating a co-designed product that we believe will become a significant milestone in the evolution of yachting.”
Founded in 1992 and now part of Next Yacht Group, AB Yachts has built its reputation on high-performance yachts featuring waterjet propulsion, aerospace-derived hull technology and advanced electronic trim control systems. The current range extends from the AB 80 to the AB 130, offering speeds of up to 60 knots while combining comfort, quiet operation, safety and a strong commitment to sustainability.
