Benetti climbs to the top step of the podium with Motopanfilo 37M at the 2022 Boat International Design and Innovation Awards, which acknowledge not only naval architecture and styling, but also design and technology aspects that represent innovation, engineering and sustainability.
The award ceremony took place on June 22 in Milan as part of the 2022 Superyacht Design Festival.
Benetti's Motopanfilo 37M won the coveted award in two categories: "Outstanding Exterior Motor Yachts – 24m to 39.9m" and "Best New Series".
Motopanfilo is a 37-metre displacement yacht built from composite materials and featuring a timeless design that embraces the present, while drawing inspiration from the past, in order to reach out to the future. The yacht's design harks back to Benetti navettas from the 1960s, which provide the inspiration for a gracious elegance that isn't in thrall to passing fashion trends, but offers much larger and more light-filled spaces accompanied by seamless eye contact with the sea.
The exterior design that caught the jury's eye, developed by Francesco Struglia in tandem with Benetti, features a classic, elegant and austere style with bold, clean lines that show off the yacht's contours. The designer has tapped into the powerful stylistic forms of the past, combining the hull and superstructure with a natural touch to create a harmonious whole. Generous terraces descend to the water's surface, opening the yacht up to the outside world and establishing close contact with nature. The bond between classic and modern reaches its apex in the transom, where the generous beach club transforms into a spacious platform stretching out over the surface of the water. The magical Observation Deck above the hard top can be thought of as a mini fourth deck, offering an intimate and exclusive vantage point from which to enjoy the view.
The Motopanfilo 37M's interior design by Lazzarini & Pickering is inspired by the desire to rediscover and revisit the traditional features of motor cruiser style in the name of a new classicism, resulting in an approach that sees the interiors of the new Motopanfilo like the skeleton of a huge whale whose bones give the space its structure and rhythm.
The double win at these Boat International awards confirms Benetti's masterful design of yachts that embody the brand's inspiring heritage and its distinctive qualities of innovation, reliability and construction capacity.
