Numarine, the renowned builder of efficient explorer yachts, has unveiled five different interior concepts for its latest superyacht line: the Classic Line, which was first showcased to the industry in spring through two new models, the 38XPC and 39MXPC.

The Turkish shipyard has joined forces with five different international design studios for the new interior concepts, which are known as ‘Numarine Atelier’, with Can Yalman responsible for the exterior design of the Classic Line as a whole.

All of the new models in the Classic Line marry the confidence, autonomy and practicality associated with a Numarine explorer yacht with a more timeless and refined exterior language.

Instead of treating the term “classic” as nostalgic, the proportions and character of the models are elegant and enduring, whilst always retaining the functionality, comfort and explorer capabilities of a Numarine yacht.

Five interpretations of contemporary living
With Numarine providing the platform, engineering, capability and philosophy behind the yachts, the five studios – Hot Lab (Italy), Ofist (Türkiye), Vallicelli Design (Italy), Sturge & Toth (UK & Austria) and Carla Guilhem Design (USA) – offer five genuinely different interpretations of contemporary life within that platform.

Rather than creating five variations of the same interior, each studio provides its own cultural references, sense of proportion, approach to materials and understanding of contemporary living, whilst always working within the DNA and architecture of the Classic Line.

Key material differences for genuine choice
The choice of materials for the five interior concepts (known collectively as ‘Numarine Atelier’) is where the individual personalities of the studios shine through. Rather than being restricted to a specific Numarine material palette to use, each studio was given the freedom to develop its own combination of woods, stones, textiles, metals and tactile surfaces.

With the exact palettes differing significantly from one concept to another (some are warmer and more natural, others are more architectural or contemporary), across all five designs, there is an emphasis on authentic materials, craftsmanship and finishes that feel appropriate to a yacht intended for extended periods on board.

Ultimately, this approach has been deliberately chosen by Numarine for one important reason: to offer owners genuinely different choices for their yachts, rather than differences such as varying colour schemes.

Understated, liveable and timeless: unifying features
Vitally too, despite their clear visual differences, the five concepts share several fundamental principles which unify the Numarine Classic Line. Firstly, there is livability. The yachts are designed to be used, not simply admired. As a result, comfort, circulation, storage, functionality and the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces are therefore extremely important.

Secondly, there is a strong sense of timelessness. All five interior concepts offer interiors with personality, but also with an enduring appeal which is not driven by short-lived trends. Finally, there is also a certain understated quality to all of the interior concepts, with the sense of luxury on board created by clever utilisation of space, proportion, materials, light, craftsmanship and the way guests feel after spending extended time on board.

Thoughtful, holistic wellness on board
Furthermore, Numarine has developed a wellness option for the bathrooms on board its Classic Line yachts. This brings together thoughtful technologies and natural elements to support guests’ physical and mental wellbeing throughout the journey.

From circadian lighting, purified air and mineral-rich water to infrared sauna, cold therapy and restorative shower experiences, each element is integrated seamlessly into life on board. The result goes beyond the idea of a traditional yacht spa: it is a holistic environment designed to improve sleep, energy, recovery and the overall quality of life on board.

The freedom to go further
Can Yalman, exterior designer for the Classic Line highlights how the latest models help to further evolve the concept of an explorer vessel. “For us, explorer capability is not a styling exercise. It is about how and where you can use the yacht. The Classic Line retains the qualities that are fundamental to Numarine: autonomy, comfort for extended cruising, generous volumes, practical spaces and a strong connection with the sea. The difference is the way those capabilities are expressed aesthetically. The exterior design brings a more timeless character, while the interiors take the idea one step further.”

He continues: “Through five very different design languages expressed through the ‘Numarine Atelier’, we can demonstrate that an explorer yacht does not have to prescribe a particular lifestyle or aesthetic. You can have genuine explorer capability combined with a very sophisticated, contemporary or residential environment. For us, this is an important evolution of the explorer concept: the freedom to go further, without compromising how you want to live when you get there.”

Finally, as for the response to the Classic Line so far, Patrik von Sydow, CEO at Numarine, explains more: “The initial response to this Classic Line has been very encouraging, particularly because the Classic Line introduces Numarine to owners who may appreciate our philosophy and capabilities but are looking for a different aesthetic expression.”

“We believe the five-interior concept of the ‘Numarine Atelier’ will strengthen that proposition considerably,” adds von Sydow. “It allows potential owners to see how differently the same platform can be interpreted and makes the yacht much more personal from the very beginning of the ownership journey. Instead of asking an owner to imagine what customisation could look like, we are giving them five strong creative starting points. We believe this will make the Classic Line relevant to a broader range of tastes and markets while keeping a clear Numarine identity at its core. We are broadening the definition of what a Numarine can be and are so excited for the industry’s reaction this show season.”
