From 8 to 13 September, visitors to Europe’s leading in-water boat show will have the opportunity to discover the newest iteration of the OT-60, a yacht that continues to evolve through ongoing technical development and close collaboration with owners. Building on the success that has established the model as one of the most distinctive propositions in its segment, Omikron presents a version that further enhances performance, versatility and onboard comfort while remaining faithful to the original concept.
Conceived by Omikron Yachts together with renowned naval architect Juan Kouyoumdjian and designer Lorenzo Argento, the OT-60 combines the relaxed philosophy of sailing with the practicality and liveability of a motor yacht. At the heart of the project is the proprietary Eco-Cruise hull, developed to deliver maximum efficiency at real cruising speeds, allowing owners to enjoy longer journeys with reduced fuel consumption and lower environmental impact.
The yacht showcased in Cannes incorporates the latest technical developments introduced by the shipyard, including the recently unveiled 370 hp Yanmar propulsion twin, available as one of the model’s propulsion options. This configuration expands the OT-60’s performance envelope, enabling top speeds of up to 20 knots while preserving the smooth, quiet and economical cruising characteristics that have become a hallmark of the model. The new setup reflects Omikron’s philosophy of continuously improving its products through engineering innovation and a flexible approach to customization.
Constructed using advanced vacuum-infused composites and featuring a lightweight carbon-fibre superstructure, the OT-60 remains significantly lighter than many comparable yachts in her category. This careful attention to weight management, combined with optimized naval architecture, contributes to extended cruising range, lower fuel consumption and a uniquely comfortable onboard experience.
The Cannes Yachting Festival also provides an opportunity to highlight the steady growth of Omikron on the international stage. Supported by an expanding dealer network across key markets and ongoing investments in product development, the shipyard continues to strengthen its position among owners seeking a more conscious and refined approach to cruising.
As Omikron Yachts looks toward the future, with the OT-80 and Argo 54 projects currently under development, the OT-60 remains the purest expression of the brand’s vision: creating yachts designed not only to reach destinations, but to elevate every mile of the journey.
