Outremer showcased a live reveal of its latest 52' model at the International Multihull Show today in La Grande-Motte, France. After two and a half years in the making, the Outremer team presented key feature highlights of the catamaran that combines the best of its two iconic models to deliver a new standard in ocean cruising.
Speaking at the presentation, Stéphane Grimault, Outremer General Manager, said "We are proud to debut our 52' catamaran on an international stage, made possible by our expert team, using their knowledge, design and skills to build a high-performance yet family-sized catamaran for travelling the world."
The Outremer 52 combines the signature features of the legendary 51 – to which it is successor - with the fresh look and feel of the recently launched 55, which won a European Yacht of the Year award last year. Surrounded by the best naval architects (VPLP), and great names in French design (Patrick Le Quément, Darnet Design, Saguez & Partners), the Outremer shipyard has engineered a smart and seaworthy boat for the ultimate bluewater cruising experience.
Using innovative technology developed by its sister shipyard Gunboat, it was possible to reduce the weight of the 52', while maintaining a high level of resistance for optimum performance. The reduced weight also allowed an increase in glass surfaces and openings in the boat that gives crews the reassuring benefit from increased visibility during navigation, regardless of their position in the saloon or cockpit.
