Sanlorenzo docks in Venice to once again support contemporary art and participates as the main sponsor of the Italian Pavilion at the Biennale Arte 2022. In parallel with its commitment to supporting the Italian spirit and Made in Italy within this international context and as part of the Biennale's collateral events, Sanlorenzo will be presenting an installation by Piero Lissoni entitled ARENA in the splendid setting of ACP - Palazzo Franchetti.
Arena consists of a metal platform with a geometric, telescopic shape, secured by stanchions and perimeter dragnets, facing the Grand Canal from the garden of ACP - Palazzo Franchetti and clearly visible when crossing the Ponte dell'Accademia. The entire floor converses with the animated and inanimate elements that surround it, while a play of steps moves the circulation flow on the platform and turns it into a convivial place that relates to its surroundings.
The inspiration behind the project is the desire to give a new perspective of the city of Venice to be experienced by its visitors throughout the seven months of the Biennale: ARENA will also become a place for gatherings and intellectual exchange, hosting meetings with leading figures from the world of culture, art and design.
“A place of encounters and new perspectives, facing the Grand Canal: an amphiteatre that dialogues with the garden, the palace and everything that passes by, a metal sculpture that reveals everything around it.”
Piero Lissoni, Art Director of Sanlorenzo
After having consolidating, over the course of the years, the link with art through collaborations with some of the main players on the international scene, and with the creation of Sanlorenzo Arts as a true producer of culture and design, Sanlorenzo returns to Venice as a key player in the most important event linked to the art world at a global level.
