TYKUN continues its growth path with MED Group’s new shipyard now fully operational, a strategic industrial asset designed to support the brand’s evolution and accelerate its development within the high-performance chase boat sector.
The expansion of the production facility is closely linked to the evolution of the TYKUN range. Originally focused on the RIB market, the brand has progressively moved towards increasingly sophisticated and high-performance platforms, including professional and operational applications. This evolution has led to the development of larger and more technically complex vessels, requiring a significant increase in MED Group’s production capacity to support larger builds, enhance operational safety, and improve overall manufacturing efficiency.
The new shipyard is the result of MED Group’s long-term industrial strategy aimed at creating a facility capable of meeting the highest standards in technological innovation, energy efficiency, and production optimization. The new setup enables TYKUN to manage the entire production process in-house, reducing reliance on external suppliers while strengthening quality control and oversight across all stages of construction.
The decision to maintain operations in Italy’s Upper Adriatic region reflects MED Group’s commitment to preserving its long-standing connection with the local territory and its highly specialized workforce, an essential component of the technical expertise behind TYKUN’s industrial and product development.
Within this framework, TYKUN represents the direct evolution of a technical platform originally developed by MED Group for professional, governmental and defence applications, now successfully transferred also to the leisure boating segment. The brand develops a range of high-performance aluminium chase boats and tenders, combining advanced engineering with a strong focus on performance, safety and configuration flexibility.
TYKUN’s philosophy is built on a balance of performance, reliability, and onboard comfort. Its platforms draw on MED Group’s extensive experience in demanding operational environments and are adapted to meet the expectations of the leisure and superyacht markets, while maintaining strong technical continuity with their professional counterparts.
The availability of MED Group’s new shipyard provides the industrial foundation required to support the continued expansion of the TYKUN range, ensuring seamless integration between design, engineering, and production, and enabling more efficient management of projects with varying levels of complexity. This industrial milestone further strengthens TYKUN’s ability to serve the superyacht sector with production and engineering standards aligned with international market expectations.
The new flagship model, TYKUN XII, the latest evolution of the range, will make its world debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026.
“We believed in this company from the moment we acquired it four years ago. We started with a business focused on the RIB segment up to 12 metres, but as the market evolved and new technological demands emerged, we recognised the need to broaden both our vision and our production capabilities. MED Group’s new shipyard was created precisely to meet this need: providing the space and infrastructure required to build larger vessels with greater safety and efficiency, enhanced process control, and reduced reliance on subcontracted operations,” said Marco Galimberti, CEO of MED Group.
The new industrial setup reinforces TYKUN’s growth strategy while consolidating MED Group’s position in the high-performance vessel sector. At the same time, it strengthens TYKUN’s role in the international market for next-generation chase boats, supporting the brand’s continued global expansion.
