The North Sound Maxi Regatta 2026, set against the breathtaking scenery of the British Virgin Islands, officially opened Wally’s international racing season with outstanding performances from the Wally fleet. The event also marked the launch of the Wally Performance Trophy, the new season-long competition rewarding consistency and excellence across Wally yachts.
The undisputed standout of the regatta was V, the wallycento owned by Karel Komárek, which secured overall victory in the Maxi Class after a very consistent week of racing across a variety of conditions.
Strong results were also recorded in the Combined Class, which brings together Maxi yachts and pure racing yachts in an overall ranking. In this classification, the black and gold wallycento secured an impressive third place overall, highlighting the yacht’s consistency and competitiveness across the fleet.
The second wallycento on the starting line, Galateia, owned by Chris and David Leuschen, finished in third place in the Maxi Class and fifth overall in the Combined Class, once again confirming the high-performance level of the Wally fleet in a very competitive racing environment.
The wallycento series, consisting of 100-foot yachts conceived to compete at the highest level, perfectly represents Wally’s philosophy of combining cutting-edge technology, innovative design, and uncompromising performance. As part of the Ferretti Group, Wally continues to set benchmarks in luxury yachting, reinforcing its reputation as a brand that combines design excellence, technical innovation, and racing heritage.
Beyond racing, the North Sound Maxi Regatta was marked by a strong social and lifestyle dimension. On Saturday, 21 March, Wally hosted the Wally Sunset Cocktail at the exclusive Biras Marina & Resort, welcoming owners and friends for an informal yet elegant gathering that reflected the spirit of the brand.
An invitation-only event attended by leading figures of the international sailing community, the North Sound Maxi Regatta once again delivered a unique blend of world-class racing, exceptional hospitality, and atmosphere, setting the tone for the Wally Performance Trophy 2026 as it now moves towards its next Mediterranean stages.
