The 14th edition of the RORC Transatlantic Race, organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club and once again supported by Calero Marinas, the International Maxi Association and the Yacht Club de France, will start at 14:00 UTC on Sunday 8 January 2023 from Lanzarote Marina in the Canary Islands. For approximately 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean the fleet of 21 participants will sail to the finish line in the Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina in Grenada, Caribbean, and on the starting line, this year, there will be three 70-foot trimarans: Maserati Multi70, Snowflake (ex Phaedo3) and Zoulou (ex Powerplay); three identical MOD70s, determined to compete for the overall race record and the Multihull Line Honours.

Maserati Multi70 is taking part in the RORC Transatlantic Race for the fourth time, having competed in the 2016 edition; the 2018 edition, when it crossed the finish line first with a time of 6 days, 18 hours, 54 minutes and 3 seconds; and the 2022 edition, where it won with a real time of 6 days, 18 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds. Giovanni Soldini and the Maserati Multi70 team have spent the last few weeks preparing the boat. "The transfer from La Spezia to Lanzarote went well" commented Giovanni Soldini, "we have deepened our tests on the full electric and measured the efficiency of the panels and the battery even in low light conditions".

In the regatta, on board Maserati Multi70, Giovanni Soldini will be accompanied by 6 professional sailors: Guido Broggi (ITA), Matteo Soldini (ITA), Oliver Herrera Perez (ESP), Francesco Pedol (ITA), Lucas Valenza-Troubat (FRA) and Francesco Malingri (ITA).
