Marlow Ropes joins Team Australia's America's Cup campaign
Team Australia has welcomed Marlow Ropes as an Official Supplier for its 2027 America's Cup campaign, bringing one of the world's leading high-performance rope manufacturers on board for the road to Naples.
Marlow Ropes' rigging solutions will be an integral part of Team Australia's AC75 program, where strength, weight, durability and reliability are critical. The company's products will support the boat's rigging and control systems, helping the team extract maximum performance from its foiling platform.
Marlow Ropes brings extensive experience at the very highest levels of competitive sailing. The company has a long history working with America's Cup teams, developing specialist rigging built for the extreme loads of AC75 racing, and is also the Official Rope Supplier to SailGP. This experience provides Team Australia with access to a depth of technical knowledge developed in some of the most demanding sailing environments in the world.
Craig Garnett, Rigging Lead at Team Australia, said:
"The loads and forces involved in an AC75 are significant, and the rigging has to perform reliably every time we go sailing. There is a huge amount of detail that goes into selecting and developing the right rope for each application, particularly when you are constantly looking for ways to reduce weight without compromising strength or durability.
Marlow has a wealth of experience in this space through its work in the America's Cup and SailGP, so having that level of technical expertise behind our rigging program is extremely valuable. We're looking forward to working closely with the Marlow team as we develop our systems for Naples."
Paul Honess, Sales Director at Marlow Ropes, said:
"Team Australia's return to the America's Cup is a campaign built on performance, and that is exactly what our MGP (Marlow Grand Prix) range is designed for. The AC75 is one of the most demanding environments a line can face, connecting hydraulics and sail control systems together, and what we learn there about strength, weight and reliability under extreme loads and continuous cycling feeds directly into the products we develop for sailors at every level. We're proud to be supporting Team Australia in their return to the America's Cup next year in Naples."
