LE CARGO, the first Marketplace dedicated to the marine sector, founded by Gérard d'Aboville and Fanny Adam, was the winner in the Services category on Friday evening at the NAUTIC INNOVATION AWARDS. This prize rewards the year’s leading innovations in the marine sector. The awards ceremony was opened by Pierre Gattaz, President of the MEDEF (the French business confederation).

Launched last summer and presented this week at the Paris Boat Show (the Nautic), LE CARGO is the first Marketplace dedicated to the sale and purchase of marine equipment. This title rewards both the innovation and the work done over the months by the teams at LE CARGO as it was in its launch phase. Gérard d'Aboville: 'I am pleased to see the wealth of products and the huge variety of innovations presented at the 2017 Nautic Innovation Awards. Almost all are examples of the development of digital technology, which is now present throughout the boating and marine sector. LE CARGO is a concrete example of this development serving people in the trade and private individuals.”

This prize rewards genuinely new products sold to the public and will enable LE CARGO to come under the spotlight as it is launched in France and around the world with growing interest from the public.

The first marketplace dedicated to the marine sector
The only web platform of its kind, open to people in the trade and private individuals, LE CARGO enables people to buy or sell new or second-hand marine equipment. “In France, 16 million people enjoy activities linked to the sea. It is the country with the largest number of people involved as a proportion of its population. It was only logical that a Marketplace dedicated exclusively to sports and marine activities should appear in France,” explained Gérard D'Aboville.

Thanks to a powerful search engine, and some very efficient filters, the purchaser can find the article he is looking for in just a few clicks in the eight categories on offer: Boating, Decoration and old gaffers, Extreme Sports, Diving, Dinghies and Kayaks, Clothing, Books, Fishing.
