No racing today at the Rolex TP52 World Championship

Racing was abandoned for the day at the TP52’s World Championship that is being held in Puerto Portals in the Bay of Palma until August 29th. A weather front moving through over the Balearics meant that the breeze was too unstable, variable and shifty for racing. 

Principal Race Officer Maria Torrijo made the wise decision to keep the teams in port and to hoist the AP flag ashore. At around 12:30 a squall hit the marina and forced everyone to reinforce their moorings.   

So the overall standings remain the same as yesterday and tomorrow’s forecast still isn’t clear. Provezza, after dismasting the day before yesterday, was back in port this morning, ready to race with a spare mast. 

Tomorrow the first Warning Signal is scheduled for 1:00 PM CEST. Racing will be streamed from start to finish on the 52 Super Series website and on www.azzurra.it.
