Rolex Giraglia 2021 - Postponement of the Notice of Race

We hereby inform all concerned parties that, due to uncertainties related to the ongoing pandemic, the publication of the Notice of Race and Schedule of Events has been postponed.

As of today, we still intend to confirm the original schedule, as follows:

11 June 2021    Preliminary Race Sanremo / Saint-Tropez
13-15 June 2021    Inshore Races in Saint-Tropez
16 June 2021    Start of the Offshore Race Saint-Tropez / Giraglia / Genova

We, however, are working on an alternative Plan-B to be implemented in the event pandemic-related restrictions should hinder safe and enjoyable racing in France.  Under such circumstances, the Rolex Giraglia 2021 would be raced entirely between Italian ports, possibly including the rounding of a mark positioned along the French riviera, before heading to the Giraglia islet and back.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, the Rolex Giraglia 2021 remains, therefore, scheduled for mid-June but the Notice of Race and Schedule of Events will only be made available early next month.

To assist competitors with their logistics, we shall endeavour to provide as much information as early as possible.  We believe that an all-Italian event would still honour the tradition of the Rolex Giraglia Race, strengthening the friendly relationship between Italy and France, and facilitating racing by entries from Italy and abroad.  All this would be done in cooperation with Société Nautique de Saint Tropez and Yacht Club Sanremo, co-organisers of the race for the past several years.

Particular care will be given to the implementation of all required safety protocols and procedures to ensure that, regardless of the format eventually adopted, competitors enjoy racing in the best possible conditions, taking into account the current challenging circumstances.
