Third sale in 12 months for CDM Pre-owned Sales Department: after the RJ130 MY Nuri and the Darwin 107 MY Storm, Nauta Air 90 ICON (ex NOGA) has passed to a new enthusiast Owner with an off-market deal.
Over the years a significant number of explorer yachts built by CdM have been resold in record time through the yard’s Pre-owned Sales Department (either directly or with the help of international Yacht Brokers from all the major brokerage houses), the most recent being the Nauta Air 90 ICON (ex NOGA) originally delivered in 2014.
“We decided to buy this vessel for the mix of construction quality, good taste in finishing and a very family friendly layout. I was following this particular yacht since 2018,” says the new Uruguayan Owner. “For the first year we will be enjoying the South of France and the Balearics. Second year Corsica/Sardinia and south of Italy. We will rename the yacht COMO”.
Carlo Aquilanti, Pre-owned Dept. Sales Manager has carried over the whole transaction.
Five units of the Nauta Air series has been sold and built by CdM: two Nauta Air 90, one 108, one 110 and one 111.
CdM Pre-owned Sales Department has been entrusted Central Agent for the sale of the all aluminium Nauta Air 90 YES (ex ROSEY, YOLO) which is under offer at the moment.
The excellent sales results of CDM pre-owned division come from the deep knowledge of the boats to sell (being the builders themselves), from the availability of leads that are specifically contacting the Shipyard to buy explorer vessels (and not ready to wait for it), the completeness of the services offered to both the selling Owners (initial marketing concept, development of refitting ideas and projects to be presented to prospect buyers up to the paperwork for the execution of the sale) and the Buying Owners (from servicing the ship systems to major refits which can be made by the same craftsmen who have built the vessel originally).
Nauta Air 90 main features
Entirely designed by international renowned designers Mario Pe- dol and Massimo Gino of Nauta Design, the Nauta Air 90 features ac- commodation for eight guests in four suites located on the Lower deck where a crew of five has their comfortable quarters, too.
Guest spaces are spread over two decks plus a 65 square me- tres Flying Bridge featuring all amenities to spend relaxing hours en plei air: sunpads, barbecue, bar, lounging and dining area. The open plan saloon on the Main deck has been designed for relaxation, with comfortable seating, a bar and an entertain- ment centre including a 60-inch Samsung television and a Bose surround sound stereo system. Forward is a dining area with se- ating for eight guests. The aft cockpit offers built-in upholstered seating, a table, chairs and an ice maker, ensuring its popularity as the location for al fresco cocktails and casual dining. Port and starboard stairs lead down to a large swim platform. The flybrid- ge comes with sun pads aft, a barbecue grill, wine cooler and ice maker with seating under a hard top.
From the saloon, a few steps lead up to the helm station. Visibility is good, and the slightly tilted glass, together with the top deck’s
overhang, protects the bridge from the sunlight and the heat. In line with the philosophy behind these strong and reliable yachts, designed not to impress but to cruise safely, it boasts traditional navigation instruments and the two Caterpillar engines and tech- nical equipment can be controlled from both the main helm sta- tion and the fly. A third helm station is in the cockpit and a control panel is located near the Captain’s cabin on the lower deck. Comfort on board is guaranteed by the ample and bright spaces but also by the fact that noise and vibrations have been extre- mely reduced thanks to the use of thick layers of rockwool in combination with layers of Mapflex, a visco-elastic acoustic in- sulator that significantly reduces noise and muffles vibration. Above deck and on the lower bridge, at cruising speed, noise does not exceed 60 dB. As for stability, apart from the shape of the hull, the quick and quiet CMC electric stabilizers do their job very well. The Nauta Air 90 is designed for long, tranquil cruising and its performance is more focused on comfort than speed. At 9 knots the Nauta Air 90 expresses at best her globetrotter nature with an autonomy of 4000 nautical miles; but even at a more da- ring pace, fuel consumption remains low. At a speed of 13.4 knots, the two Caterpillar C18 Acert engines of 885 hp run at 1800rpm and burn 160 l/h. Maximum speed is approximately 16.5 knots.
