The UIM, proud promoter of the 2017 X-Cat World Championship, one of the most spectacular disciplines of offshore powerboating, has organized 3 stages and 6 races in China before moving to Dubai for the Grand Finale.

The UIM President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli attended the last racing week-end and witnessed the popularity of this discipline in front of thousands of enthusiastic fans. His visit is in line with the UIM strategy of shaping new pathways for cooperation in China.

Several constructive meetings took place with local Authorities, the Chinese Motorboating Association and the JiMei University of Xiamen in order to further develop powerboating and related training and coaching initiatives in the whole region.

The Xiamen local government acknowledged the UIM as the world governing body for powerboating and as a center of excellence for new and green technologies, professional training and high safety standards.

The three stages of the 2017 UIM XCAT World Championship held in Zhengzhou, Weihai and Xiamen (China) have been an extraordinary success for the sport, for the local administrations and for the fans who enjoyed an unprecedented level of thrill and entertainment.

The UIM President warmly thanked and congratulated the local authorities, the Chinese Motorboating Association and the UIM partner Baia Blu d'Oriente.
