Overmarine Group expands the Mangusta GranSport range with the debut of the new GranSport 50, presented at the Palm Beach International Boat Show less than a month after the launch of the GranSport 38. The model enters the 50-metre segment with an evolution of the Sport Utility Yacht concept, aimed at integrating performance, volumes and long-range cruising capability.

The project is the result of a collaboration between the shipyard’s Engineering Department, P.L.A.N.A. Design for naval architecture and designer Alberto Mancini, with the aim of balancing typically sporty features with those of displacement vessels.

One of the key elements of the project is the introduction of the Raised Pilot House (RPH), a solution that allows the layout to be developed over three and a half decks while freeing up space on the upper deck and redefining onboard layouts.

The raised wheelhouse is integrated into the yacht’s profile, while the redistribution of volumes enhances the bow areas with configurations dedicated to onboard living, including a lounge area and an infinity pool. The result is a sequence of decks with differentiated functions, each designed for a specific use.

From a layout perspective, the project includes configurations that can be selected during construction: the upper deck area can be arranged as an additional cabin, a family lounge or an office, up to solutions that create a full deck dedicated to the owner.

The exterior design maintains a sporty profile while introducing extensive use of glass surfaces. The full glazing concept and frameless side elements contribute to visual continuity between interior and exterior, directly affecting the perception of space.

The interiors follow the same principle, with a design approach focused on natural light and the reduction of visual barriers, in continuity with the yacht’s exterior language.

The main deck is entirely dedicated to the owner, featuring a full-beam master suite with large glazed surfaces and, optionally, an opening balcony. The galley is located on the lower deck to optimise space distribution.

Forward, an integrated garage with lateral opening accommodates a 6.3-metre tender and two jet skis. The stern is configured as a social area, with a central staircase connecting the cockpit to the swim platform and a transformable beach club, in continuity with solutions introduced on previous models in the range.

The sun deck is conceived as a panoramic area with 360-degree views, while the upper deck acts as the functional hub of the yacht, integrating helm station, living areas and entertainment spaces.

The Mangusta GranSport 50 has an overall length of 49.9 metres, a beam of 9.6 metres and a gross tonnage below 499 GT. It accommodates up to 12 guests in five cabins, along with nine crew members in five dedicated cabins.

Propulsion is provided by two MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines rated at 2,600 HP each, enabling a top speed of around 20 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots. The declared range reaches 4,200 nautical miles at economical speed.

The new model sits within a range structured across three lines – Maxi Open REV, Oceano and GranSport – representing different interpretations of the Mangusta product. With the GranSport 50, the shipyard further expands its presence in the high-performance semi-displacement segment, reinforcing an approach that combines speed, range and onboard space quality.
