Turquoise Yachts has announced the delivery of Angelique, an 88-metre motoryacht (formerly NB74 Project Vento), from the shipyard's facilities in Pendik, Istanbul. At 2,646 GT across five decks, she is the largest yacht built in Turkey to date. The vessel is the second, and largest, of five custom yachts derived from the yard's 80-metre platform.
Exterior and interior design are by H2 Yacht Design, in a collaboration with Turquoise spanning over twenty years. The hull is steel with an aluminium superstructure, classed by Lloyd's Register of Shipping and flagged in the Cayman Islands. Propulsion comes from twin MTU 12V4000 M65L engines rated at 2,574 BHP, for a top speed of 17 knots. Stabilisation is by Quantum XT.
"It is still difficult to fully grasp the sheer scale of the achievement of our team and valued solution partners," says Burak Akgül, CEO of Turquoise Yachts. "As the second – and largest – of five custom yachts derived from our 80-metre platform, Angelique unequivocally marks a new standard of our ability."
"I have worked with Turquoise for over 20 years, and the experience has always been one of cooperation and mutual respect," says Jonny Horsfield, founder of H2 Yacht Design. "Over that time, I have seen Turquoise evolve and grow into a truly world-class operation, and Angelique is a credit to the yard and its determination to continually improve and learn."
The exterior is defined by balanced proportions and fluid lines, with a 'Tour de France' blue-inspired hull and a sculpted superstructure featuring angled grilles and aft louvre detailing. Exterior spaces are distributed across five decks. The main deck aft houses a 6.5-metre glass-sided counterflow pool and a low seating area. The owner's deck aft is arranged around a bar and dining area that can be fully enclosed to create a winter garden. Forward on the same deck, an owner's terrace with recessed seating and jacuzzi. On the foredeck, a touch-and-go helipad doubles as a basketball court.
The bridge deck aft features a lounge and sunbathing area connected to the wellness amenities on this deck, which include a fully equipped gym and spa with sauna, hammam and treatment room. The sun deck aft provides informal seating, outdoor cinema, bar and outdoor kitchen with barbecue and teppanyaki grill, with fixed sunpads around a jacuzzi forward.
The interior takes cues from the Art Deco-influenced design aboard the 77m Go, another Turquoise-H2 collaboration, evolved into a contemporary scheme. The main saloon features a bar and a suspended Dale Chihuly sculpture in the central stair atrium. Local craftsmanship played a key role, with longstanding partner Ulutas producing all polished stainless steel detailing on site.
"It is the finest I have ever seen from any shipyard," adds Horsfield. "The quality of the lacquer work is also world-class. Both are exceptionally difficult elements to execute well, yet Ulutas and Turquoise have achieved a truly exceptional finish. Their quality and attention to detail are second to none, and it is always a pleasure to collaborate with them."
The beach club, with folding side terraces and natural light from skylights, includes a bar, seating area, massage room and drive-in tender dock. Guest accommodation comprises two VIP cabins and four guest cabins on the main deck. The owner's suite on the owner's deck includes a lounge, breakfast table, his-and-hers dressing rooms, office and direct access to a private terrace.
"The project was exceptionally well planned and supported," says Giles Frankal, Co-Founder of Occam Marine, who provided owner's representation during the build. "The finished yacht is a true reflection of the quality, craftsmanship and design vision delivered by all involved. We are incredibly proud to have contributed to the largest yacht delivered by Turquoise to date."
Angelique is available for charter through Robert Shepherd at Edmiston. The sales broker is Ethereal Yachts.
