The Milan-based shipyard, a leading designer and producer of high-quality inflatable boats, will be one of the top players at the upcoming Genoa Boat Show, where it will be exhibiting six high-end models – including the Italian premieres of GranTurismo 14.0 X and Turismo 9.5 – enhanced by DFactory ‘wrapping art’ at two stands featuring the minimalist design of Riva1920 and the refined effervescence of Bèlon du Bèlon sparkling Franciacorta wine.
From September 21 to 26, Lomac will be welcoming customers, visitors and journalists to two exhibition spaces covering almost 200 square metres in the event’s maxi RIB area and outdoors on pier H. The atmosphere will be pointedly ‘premium’, not least because on show – alongside the top-of-the-range inflatable boats produced by the Milan-based brand led by the third generation of the Lo Manto family – will be a number of one-off items by iconic design brand Riva1920 and fine cuvées offered by Bèlon du Bèlon from Franciacorta. Another demonstration of the shipyard’s drive for innovation is the collaboration with leading high-end car wrapping company DFactory.
On show at the event will be the new GranTurismo 14.0 X and Turismo 9.5, making their debut on the Italian market.
The new GranTurismo 14.0 X, the flagship of the brand’s most exclusive family of boats, has a completely new layout offering even more liveability thanks to a generous cockpit and two side walkways that optimise onboard flows, guaranteeing the superlative comfort expected from a maxi-rib of this size, which is also very popular as a superyacht tender. The cockpit features a large circular table that seats 8 to 10 people and can be folded away when not in use, while in the stern there’s another wide sun pad. The forward sun pad features generous dimensions and excellent protection, while below deck there’s a spacious cabin with wood trim, a dinette top on the left, plenty of storage space and a bathroom with separate full-height shower. The exterior styling and interior design are by Federico Fiorentino, as is the hull geometry, which was developed and validated using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software to simulate cruising at all speeds and achieve maximum performance and efficiency in the water. The boat will be powered by the new XTO Yamaha outboards rated 450 hp each.
The new Turismo 9.5, like the smaller Turismo 7.0 – also on show but not in the water, with a 200 hp Yamaha outboard – features a particularly sleek and sporty design that taps into heavy-duty military boats and offers performance, versatility and plenty of space on board for guests. The spacious aft area features a U-shaped dinette for 6/8 people that converts into a sun pad, ergonomic sport seating for the pilot and copilot with a fridge inside, and a generous forward sun pad that can also be converted into a dinette. The helm console retains the distinctive style of the boat’s smaller sibling, but with its increased dimensions offers a more futuristic and appealing design. Under it is a bathroom compartment that can also be used as a changing room or to shelter in during bad weather. The boat is powered by two 300 hp Mercury outboards.
The two Italian premieres will be on show alongside two more success stories in the GranTurismo range, the 10.5 (with two 300 hp Mercury outboards) and the 12.5 (with two XTO Yamaha 450 outboards), which deliver the ideal combination of design, comfort and performance for customers who are looking for sporty performance but aren’t prepared to sacrifice comfort, liveability and safety, or settle for anything less than an aggressive, streamlined design. Attention to detail is another plus point for these maxi-RIBs, which are also in great demand as luxury tenders, and that’s why the shipyard offers a huge range of materials and customization options.
Three of the boats on show feature the wrapping-art of DFactory, a well-known name in the automotive world that uses high quality film to decorate and protect vehicles of all types. It used special wraps to enhance the interiors of GranTurismo 12.5 and 14.0, as well as wrapping all the exterior fibre glass parts of the GranTurismo 14.0 and Turismo 9.5 in a special transparent and regenerative Paint Protection Film (PPF) that protects them from the harmful action of UV rays and therefore also from yellowing and wear.
This year, to create an even more appealing and sophisticated atmosphere for customers and all those interested in learning more about the brand, Lomac has produced the brand’s elegant exhibition areas in partnership with Riva1920, the storied northern Italian company that has been producing finely designed objects featuring unrivalled craftsmanship for over a century. The Lomac terrace will also feature the iconic “Molletta”, a two-metre bench with a sculpted design that taps into Pop Art’s classic oversize leitmotif. Another collaboration at the Boat Show this year is with the Bèlon Du Bèlon winery, the ‘pearl’ of Franciacorta sparkling wines, whose products will be available for customers, visitors and journalists to enjoy during the event in Genoa.
But that’s not all! Lomac hasn’t forgotten about the boat licence-less and has signed up for Yamaha’s “Blue Date” initiative dedicated to those coming to the world of boating for the first time, providing a Lomac Turismo 600 with a 40 hp Yamaha outboard for “first inflatable” test drives from a special pier. “Lomac was founded in 1960 and since then has offered a whole host of new inflatable owners of all ages their first experiences at sea. With this initiative, we want to make our own contribution to bringing on board as many new pleasure boaters as possible,” said Sales Director Paolo Lo Manto.
