Cruising ahead: forward looking shipyard Numarine kicks off 2024 on a high

Istanbul-based shipyard, Numarine, has started the new year off on a high note, following a seriesof major announcements across the board.This began with the revelation that the yacht builder–which is currently delivering a total of adozen yachts per year–has not paused for breath and will be launching three new buildsuperyachts by the end of February, comprising one 37XP and two 26XPs vessels.Following a highly successful 2023, in which it introduced the super-sporty 26XP as the fastest85-footer in its class at 31 knots, as well as revealing that it had an impressive 12 yachts underconstruction, Numarine has madesignificant additions to its team in order to ensure that it remainsahead of the curve. Strengthening the management team with experienced and skilled specialistswill enable the shipyard to address all challenges, achieve set goals, and effectively meetcustomerdemands.Murat Şenhas been appointed as the newGeneral Manager, following 18 years of working forthe Turkish builder across numerous departments. Şen will be harnessing his substantial hands-onexperience in his new role, as he has had the responsibility of having been the shipyard’s factorymanager for the past eight years.“This is a great opportunity to lead the company that I’ve been in since I started my professionallife. Through my knowledge of the company culture and the team I believe the path to a successfulfuture will continue for Numarine,”saidMurat Şen.Furthermore, the shipyard will also be bolstering its commercial side, thanks to the addition ofnew Sales and Marketing DirectorBengü Özdoğan, who will lead Numarine’s sales, after-salesand marketing initiatives. First joining Numarine in November2023, Ozdogan comes with a hugeamount of expertise and knowledge under her belt. She previously worked for MB92 Group, oneof the world’s largest and most major players in the field of superyacht maintenance, refit andrepair, thus meaning she has gainedrobust experience within the business of superyacht refit.

Özdoğan will also be utilising her extensive knowledge of marketing, sales strategy andpartnership management in her new role, which she has gained from her background in the bankingand telecommunication industries.As we look to the year ahead with anticipation, Numarine has also revealed that it has two brandnew models ready to be unveiled which are slated to touch the water in 2024: a diesel-hybrid 30XPand a steel-hulled 40MXP.The 30XP: a diesel-electric beautyFirst showcased in September 2022 to mark the occasion of the shipyard’s 20th anniversary, the30XP has the accolade of being the first Numarine to feature diesel-electric propulsion and slotsin naturally between the existing 26XP and 32XP models. Notably, it did not take long for clientsto take note of this innovative model, with five units having been sold ahead of the anticipatedlaunch of the first unit this summer.Can Yalman, a long-term collaborator with Numarine, is the primary designer of both the vessel’sinteriors and interiors, which sports a raised pilothouse design selected as a result of its highlyefficient use of volume. With its interiors taking their inspiration from a sustainable and simpleScandinavian style, a version of the interior will also be offered which has been created incollaboration with the Istanbul-based Ofist Design Studio, alongside the standard version.Up to 10 guests are housed in style on board the 30XP across five ensuite staterooms, comprisingfour guest cabins on the lower deck and a master stateroom on the main deck forward. The mastersuite features floor-to-ceiling windows and cutouts in the bulwarks for phenomenal sea views,alongside an optional private fold-out balcony perfect for sun-soaked evenings.Other standout aspects of the 30XP can be found in its semi-open beach club in the stern, a featachieved by raising the deck above to create a comfortable lounging area just three steps above themain deck level, as wellas the generous master-cabin office space which is ideal for ownersneeding all-important peace and quiet.Maintaining a strong connection with the outdoors and water throughout its design, the 30XP alsooffers three fold-down platforms which increase the beach club space to 43 square metres, as wellas a side-loading tender bay capable of housing a tender of up to 6.25 metres.Full-steam ahead into 2024Numarine founder and chairmanÖmer Malazsays:“After enjoying a truly bumper 2023 in termsof our sales, our whole team is looking forward to showcasing what we are capable of in 2024 andbeyond, particularly through our unmatched expedition and explorer vessel such as the 30XP.Now with the valuable additional support of two such experienced individuals as Bengu andMurat, there will be nothing stopping us!”
