The first edition of the Natural Parks Regatta concluded successfully, establishing a new format that is expected to gain attention in the coming seasons. After a welcome cocktail at Marina di Scarlino on Friday evening at sunset, the fleet embarked on the first of two planned races. They started from the beautiful setting of Cala Violina, navigating through the islands of Cerboli and Palmaiola, and arrived at Marciana Marina. Here, a welcoming refreshment, featuring Davide Besana and his live-watercolors dedicated to the participants, was held at the Circolo della Vela Marciana Marina.
On Sunday, the fleet was supposed to depart from Marciana, zig-zagging between Palmaiola and Cerboli, to finish in front of Punta Ala. However, the strong sirocco wind that began blowing during the night led the race committee to prudently postpone and eventually cancel the return leg.
The Grand Soleil 43 NIQUIDA, owned by Lorenzo Merlini Manzoni (Yacht Club Isole di Toscana), won both in real-time and corrected time.
