Videoworks enhances award-winning Baglietto T52
Always looking to rise to new challenges is the best way to constantly grow and improve. Despite its 25 years of experience and the installation of hundreds of innovative audio/video, entertainment, IT and lighting & comfort systems on board superyachts sailing around the world, Videoworks continues to innovate and pursue new goals. The aim is always to respond to the most demanding requests from shipowners and shipping companies, implementing the latest on-board connectivity technologies for entertainment purposes and for the professional needs of shipowners.
A classic example is the installation of the technological systems of the Baglietto T52: this Videoworks intervention is the classic example of how the skills of the Italian company can perfectly meet the particular needs of a shipowner.
The Baglietto T52 (hull no. 10238 ), a 52-metre steel and aluminium displacement yacht, is quite special. This model, designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design (exteriors and interiors, with the collaboration of Margherita Casprini for the interiors), also won the World Superyacht Award 2024 in the category “Displacement Motor Yachts 499GT and below, 45m and above”.
Here is a special yacht that deserved a special outfit. And this is where Videoworks came in, with all the expertise it can offer, to create a centralised system for audio and video enjoyment on board. Nothing exceptional so far - except that everything is concentrated in a single technical UD (Upper Deck) space, where the two main racks are located. Each rack is about two metres in height. This solution ensures that all areas are as equipment-free as possible and that, consequently, any maintenance operations are less invasive, as they are concentrated in the technical room.
The system is based on an over IP infrastructure that can encode each audio and video signal and transmit it over the IT network with a graphical user interface (GUI) developed entirely by Videoworks. This latter aspect is particularly relevant because the GUI guarantees a higher level of control, from which to manage the HVAC system (HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), lighting and blinds, all supported by Crestron CPUs for the local control of AV hardware (TVs, amplifiers and other on-board equipment).
Audio can be transmitted to all outdoor areas and to the two lounges in a sort of “Party” configuration, thanks to the most modern digital signal processing units configured and programmed by Videoworks. Additional audio links are also provided in some outdoor areas to enhance the sound.
Wi-fi coverage, especially in indoor and outdoor common areas, is guaranteed by a solid and reliable Cisco Catalyst network infrastructure and is already prepared for any future developments, if necessary. The dual SIM cards of the 5G modem can be easily managed via the injector installed in the main racks; a Kerio Control Box is provided to protect, manage and monitor the network. Great attention has also been paid to assistance services and network security: checks, updates and technical support are guaranteed remotely as well.
