Star Racing at the 2023 Western Hemisphere Championship
The fleet started on time on Tuesday with an 1100 first warning. Conditions were breezier then the day before with steady wind 10-15 knots, gusts up to 20 knots. Direction from the SW trending W throughout the day. The sailors returned to the dock with exhausted smiles and the prevailing sentiment was that this was a fun day on the water. Droop hiking, surfing, and tight racing made for an exciting day. This regatta has proven so far to challenge sailors with a plethora of conditions and the results are showing a competitive fleet. A special shout out to Jack Jennings and Pedro Trouche for showing up big today with a notable 1st place in race #3 of the regatta, and 2nd in race #4.
