The wind and current conditions played a big part in determining the finishing positions today especially in the afternoon as wind dropped from 13 knots to just 8 knots but the current stayed strong.

The men’s dinghy was the most closely contested of all the events so far with the ILCA 7 standings led by three athletes on the same points after four races. Vishnu Saravanan of India, Jun Han Ryan Lo of Singapore and Jeemin Ha share the top of the standings.

In the women’s dinghy, Nur Shazrin Binti Mohamad Latif of Malaysia was powering ahead of the ILCA 6 pack with Min Gu of China in second and Jing Hua Victoria Chan in third after four races.

Max Maeder, Singapore’s gold medallist at last month’s Allianz Sailing World Championships, continued to dominate the men’s kite competition after eight races but he was being doggedly pursued in every race by Haoran Zhang of China in second place. Joseph Jonathan Weston (THA) was third after the second day.
