Genoa - Team Urban Value was the first to cross the finish line of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Veloce-Fincantieri Cup, the longest non-stop regatta in the Mediterranean organized by Difesa Servizi S.p.A., SSI Events in collaboration with the Marina Militare.

Sophie Faguet, who has already won the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour along with Jonas Gerckens, and the expert Pierre Leboucher completed their effort at 22.38, taking 8 days 8 hours 27 minutes and 23 seconds to sail from Venice to Genoa, a time which, if beaten in future editions, will entitle the new record holder to the conquest of a dedicated prize pool.

The ascent of the Tyrrhenian Sea of Team Urban Value, in command from the first minutes of the race, underwent a sudden acceleration during the penultimate night, when Faguet-Leboucher, hooked on a strong wind flow from south, literally flew towards Genoa, covering over 300 miles in just under 36 hours: "It was exciting: we sailed very fast before having to momentarily surrender to the strong gusts of wind which exceeded 60 knots - explained Leboucher - We took the decision to lower all the and despite this we covered several miles towards the finish line, as we drifted at over 6 knots towards Genoa".

"It was a very interesting, long and demanding regatta and having won it is a great satisfaction. The presence of the gates forces you not to look only at tactical choices and long-term decisions: it is crucial to know how to bring the boat to fast in all conditions and Pierre is one of the best in this as he knows the Beneteau Figaro 3 very well. For me it was eight days of full immersion, during which I learned a lot" added Faguet once on the dock.

Once Team Urban Value has arrived, the wait for the podium finishers begins: Team Softway (Pam Lee-Andrea Fornaro) and Team Venezia Salone Nautico (Cecilia Zorzi-Alessandro Torresani), second and third since from the beginning, have recently broken down the barrier of 100 miles to the finish line, with Lee-Fornaro leading by about 7 miles over his pursuers. The arrival of the two crews is expected for tomorrow afternoon.
