2022 MM Nastro Rosa Tour, after Brindisi everything is still in play

It is in Brindisi that the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2022 has come to the mark rounding: the excellent performances of the athletes of the Marina Militare - Andrea Pendibene and Giovanna Valsecchi in the offshore category, where they took the second victory in a row after that of Crotone, Yaris Dell'Omo in the wingfoils and Sofia Caputo among the Waszp - have in fact eroded points to the solitary escape of Team IREN, leader of the standings. 

A situation that, by virtue of the three legs still to be completed, leaves room to any possible result and does not exclude from overall success the aforementioned Team Mexedia, third in the standings. 

From the fourth position onwards, occupied by IES Algeco with The Ocean Race and Team ENIT in the wake, the gap begins to appear quite important (25 points) but we know that sailing is the sport of great twists and everything can still happen in the event organized by Difesa Servizi S.p.A. in collaboration with SSI Events and thanks to the support of the Italian Navy.

It is with this situation in the standings that the event greeted Brindisi, where the audience celebrated the athletes on the occasion of two awards ceremonies, also attended by important institutional offices, such as the Mayor of Brindisi Riccardo Rossi, the Regional Councilor Maurizio Bruno, the Councilor for Sport of the Municipality of Brindisi Oreste Pinto, the Councilor for Tourism of the Municipality of Brindisi Emma Taveri, the Commander of Brindisi Naval Station Antonio Rossetti and Admiral Valentino Rinaldi, on behalf of the Commander of the Marina Militare Italiana.

Admiral Rinaldi, Commander of the Third Naval Division, during his speech underlined how "The link between the Navy and the world of sailing is inseparable and the profound culture of sailing has always been one of the fundamental pillars of our Armed Force. The Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour blends seafaring experiences, values ​​and traditions with modern technologies at the service of sport, or rather the winning combination of tradition and innovation that characterizes the Navy as a whole. the flag and the colors of the Marina Militare and the athletes Andrea Pendibene and Giovanna Valsecchi were the victors in the Crotone-Brindisi stage and moreover aboard a boat named San Marco. This is a reason of particular pride for the Armed Force, as sailing and sport in general represent an indispensable school of life in the training of the Sailor".

After greeting Brindisi, Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour caravan is heading north, towards Vieste, where sporting activities will begin tomorrow. Also tomorrow, but late in the evening, the Race Officials will await the arrival of the offshore fleet (10 Beneteau Figaro 3) which will leave Brindisi in the early morning of July 1st.
