Guidy System C-PIN
The Guidi System is now ‘connected'
The Guidi System is a coordinated set of products designed to enhance the performance of water flow in yacht hydraulic systems.
It consists of a kit of internally designed, developed, and manufactured components, specifically:
Seawater intake
Anti-blocking valve
Filter
Fittings
In the modern C-PIN version, diagnostic sensors have been integrated.
The Guidi System remains efficient even in the presence of light dirt accumulation. Nevertheless, proper maintenance and regular cleaning are essential.
What does the "System" actually do, and what benefits does it offer?
Reduces pressure loss
Prevents air bubbles and cavitation
Ensures correct and long-term operation of the system
Let’s look at the components in more detail:

SEAWATER INTAKE AND HULL FITTING
This is the entry point for seawater into the hull through a hull fitting, conveying it into the hydraulic circuit. It must always provide the correct water flow without reduction or turbulence. Two main types exist: hood-type or integrated with the discharge.
The hull fitting itself is a crucial element as it connects the inside and outside of the boat. It typically consists of a body and a flanged nut that secures the fitting inside the hull.
ANTI-BLOCKING VALVE
Connected to either the discharge or seawater intake, this valve opens and closes the water passage within the system, effectively regulating the flow.
It is usually installed directly on the through-hull fitting. When closed, it isolates the system, preventing water ingress in case of leaks.
Unlike lever-operated ball valves, which can be cumbersome and prone to failure, Guidi's anti-blocking valves use a screw-rotation mechanism activated by a rotating head. This system includes a membrane that protects it from fouling.
Fouling is a common issue in marine valves, potentially causing malfunction or blockage. Guidi’s anti-blocking valves remain operable even after long periods of inactivity.
The model 2260 "Alex" is a straight-flow valve, not angled, offering full liquid passage without pressure drop. Compact, manoeuvrable, and user-friendly, it is ideal for tight spaces.
The C-PIN version features an anti-blocking valve powered by a 24V stepper motor (12V optional), enabling remote operation.
Models 2240 and 2250 also include an emergency setting allowing bilge water suction in case of flooding.

FILTER
The filter retains marine water impurities such as vegetation and microorganisms. Some models feature hermetic sealing and a transparent polycarbonate lid for easy visual inspection.
Typical filter issues involve identifying maintenance timing and detecting air-induced efficiency loss.
To address these, the C-PIN version includes pressure and temperature sensors upstream and downstream for efficiency monitoring. A level sensor monitors internal water content, while a vent valve allows air removal to restore optimal function.
