Smartgyro appoints Alessio Loguercio as Managing Director

Smartgyro has appointed Alessio Loguercio as its new Managing Director, effective 7 January 2026. The appointment comes at a phase of development for the La Spezia-based company, which operates in gyroscopic stabilisation technology and is now part of the Yanmar Marine Recreational Business Unit.

Loguercio brings to Smartgyro more than fifteen years of experience in technical, operational and commercial roles within the yachting industry. His professional career began in technical design, before evolving into project management and after-sales positions at CNM Cantieri Navali del Mediterraneo, and later at Riva, where he held senior responsibilities in service and after-sales support across the EMEA region.

Since 2019, he has served as After-Sales & Service Supervisor at Riva, overseeing strategic markets including Italy, the French Riviera, Monaco, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and the Balearic Islands. In this role, he managed warranty operations, complex budgets and supplier relations, while working closely with the Engineering, Operations and Quality departments to support continuous product improvement.

At Smartgyro, Loguercio will focus on strengthening the brand’s international presence and contributing to its operational and commercial development, leveraging his background in mechanical engineering and his extensive experience in managing teams, customers and complex processes.

Commenting on his appointment, Loguercio highlighted the importance of listening to owners, supporting crews and working closely with shipyards and suppliers as key elements of his managerial approach. He also pointed to Smartgyro’s corporate culture as one of the foundations on which to build the company’s next phase of growth.

Smartgyro operates globally in the design and production of gyroscopic stabilisers for leisure and commercial vessels. Its product range includes the SG20, SG40, SG60, SG80, SG120 and SG150 models, for yachts from 40 to over 95 feet. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in La Spezia, the company is part of the Yanmar Marine Recreational Business Unit, which brings together brands such as Yanmar, Vetus, Maxwell, Flexofold and Smartgyro.

During boot Düsseldorf, Smartgyro will be exhibiting in Hall 10, Stand D40. From 19 to 22 January, visitors will have the opportunity to meet Alessio Loguercio, who will officially begin his tenure as head of the company in a setting dedicated to direct dialogue with shipyards, industry professionals and the media.
