Nanni and ZF strengthen their technological partnership for integrated marine propulsion systems
Nanni, a specialist in marine engines, and ZF, a global player in propulsion systems, are renewing a partnership that has lasted for over forty years, with the aim of offering integrated, efficient and reliable propulsion solutions for both leisure and professional marine applications. At the core of the collaboration is the technological integration between engines, transmissions and control systems, designed to ensure a smooth and consistent propulsion chain.
ZF supplies Nanni with a wide range of marine transmissions, from ZF25 to ZF3060 shaft lines to SD12 and SD15 Sail Drives, together with control systems compatible with all types of engines and transmissions. Working in synergy, Nanni engines and ZF solutions provide optimized performance in terms of power delivery, response times and maneuverability, to the benefit of both yacht owners and professional operators.
The partnership also extends to product life-cycle management, with a shared vision of the customer experience that includes maintenance and after-sales support. A more structured and homogeneous service network aims to ensure proximity to the end user and long-term operational continuity.
Joint efforts are also focused on projects currently under development, including a new integrated steering and maneuvering system, scheduled for launch in June 2026. This system will feature advanced functions designed to further optimize the onboard user experience, in line with the goal of simplifying operation while ensuring high levels of reliability. In parallel, new propulsion architectures and increasingly intelligent and connected solutions are under study, intended to respond to the evolving needs of the marine market.
For ZF, the partnership with Nanni represents a relationship built on trust and a long-term vision, as underlined by Massimiliano Cotterchio, Head of Sales & Marketing, Product Line Pleasure Craft. On Nanni’s side, Michele Insom, Head of Spare Parts & Marketing Director, highlights how the extension of the agreement makes it possible to combine their respective expertise in engines and propulsion, with the aim of providing the market with solutions that are consistent and closely aligned with customer requirements.
