Maritime broker Giorgia Corona has launched Navicella, a new independent business operating in the Sardinian nautical sector. The launch follows the conclusion of a professional chapter spent at a well-known island agency specialising in yacht brokerage and charter.

Corona brings with her a background built directly on the water: her connection with sailing dates back to 1993, when she completed her first circumnavigation of Sardinia. Since then, she has sailed the island's full perimeter multiple times aboard various types of vessels, accumulating direct knowledge of the waters and routes surrounding the island.

The name chosen for the new company is not incidental. Navicella refers to a chapter of Sardinian history that predates the great Mediterranean trade routes of the medieval period by many centuries. The Nuragic peoples, as noted in the announcement, were navigating the Mediterranean as far back as the tenth century BC. That historical fact — often overlooked in common narratives about Mediterranean maritime identity — forms the symbolic reference point around which Navicella's identity is built. The reference is intended to position the company as an expression of a maritime culture deeply embedded in the Sardinian territory.

Operationally, Navicella offers yacht brokerage and charter services in the Sardinian market and is actively seeking new professional collaborations in the sector. Its geographical presence spans Cagliari, Porto Rotondo and Porto Cervo: three marinas that cover both the island's domestic market and the most internationally prominent ports in Italian recreational boating.
