Ancona, 4 March 2026. Videoworks has designed and installed the full audio-video ecosystem for the new iGuzzini showroom in Recanati, in the Marche region of central Italy. The space, designed by architect Alfonso Femia with lighting design by Artec Studio, covers 1,400 square metres across indoor and outdoor areas and houses around 1,200 products totalling more than 7,000 lighting fixtures, managed through multiple control systems.

The collaboration marks an extension of Videoworks' activity from the marine sector — where the company has been designing AV/IT systems for superyachts for over twenty years — into land-based applications in commercial and institutional architecture.

"iGuzzini develops advanced, energy-efficient lighting solutions for cultural, retail, hospitality, urban and workplace environments, combining technological research, design excellence and a constant commitment to visual comfort and human wellbeing. In other words, the ideal partner for a specialised system integrator such as Videoworks." Jacopo Messi, Physical Channel, iGuzzini
The space and the installations

The exhibition route is structured as a sequence of lighting scenarios — diffused light, circadian lighting, vertical light, graphic patterns, coloured light and invisible light — distributed across six thematic areas covering cultural, retail, hospitality, residential, workplace, urban and smart lighting contexts. The foyer houses the iGuzzini Echoes collection.

The building's centrepiece is the Light Theatre: a 300-square-metre auditorium with 99 seats, expandable to 150, designed for immersive light and music performances with around 900 programmable scenes. The remaining areas comprise the Application Solutions Areas and, outside, the Outdoor Lab, which presents lighting systems for infrastructure, parks, façades and private gardens.

Technical integration

"In the Light Theatre, a 10,000-lumen Epson laser projection system is integrated with a professional audio installation, managed via advanced control processors and Videoworks' proprietary software, to ensure perfect synchronisation between multimedia content and lighting scenarios." Nicola Rossi, Business System Engineer, Videoworks
In the Application Solutions Areas, multiple laser projection systems and an audio architecture distributed across 22 speakers interact with iGuzzini's lighting control platforms via the KNX/IP protocol. In the foyer, Samsung Large Format Displays up to 85 inches, paired with BrightSign media players, handle dynamic communications.

Software integration involves the KNX, DALI, DMX and Casambi protocols, orchestrated via Crestron systems and software developed by Itworks, the in-house software house within the Videoworks group. The audio systems installed are by K-Array and Audac.

"The visitor does not perceive separate systems, but a fluid experience in which visual comfort, immersive storytelling and dynamic lighting performances merge naturally. With a single command, it is possible to activate combinations of light, sound and video designed to enhance a product or create an immersive atmosphere." Daniele Betti, Senior System Engineer, Itworks

The parallel with yachting

"We apply the same approach in both the residential sector and in yachting. The environment changes, but the integration philosophy remains identical: connecting different systems and transforming them into a coherent and easily manageable platform." Alessandro Cicciu, Business Division Sales Manager, Videoworks
In the marine sector, where space constraints and energy management are critical parameters, Videoworks has built expertise over time in integrating complex AV systems — expertise the company now transfers to land-based installations. The collaboration with iGuzzini represents an application of this approach in the context of commercial architecture.
