Luna Rossa is running two sailing programmes in parallel across two locations: the AC75 in Cagliari and the two AC40s in Naples. The simultaneous management requires coordination of sailors, technicians, shore team, medical staff and logistics personnel between the two sites.

The Youth & Women crews have moved to Campania for the entire summer, while the Senior team travels back and forth between Cagliari and Naples for two-boat training sessions. In Cagliari, when the Senior team is in Naples, the AC75 undergoes maintenance to be operational on the crew's return.

The two AC40s were shipped to Naples. The Youth & Women crew, together with dedicated coaches Guido Gallinaro and Rocco Falcone, handled the maintenance, dismantling and reassembly of the boats, which were back in the water and sailing from day one.

In Naples, two containers have been set up as workshop and sail loft facilities, divided by department. The two junior boat captains, Stefano Dezulian for boat 1 and Pietro De Luca for boat 2, coordinate daily operations with the full support of the youth and women's team.

Jacopo Plazzi Marzotto, Luna Rossa's coach, explained: "The young men and women were essential in carrying this dual programme forward, because without disrupting the general schedule, they gave their all, together with the shore team and the two coaches dedicated to the youth and women's programme. They first worked on AC40 maintenance, then on dismantling and finally on the set-up in Naples, getting both boats ready to sail from day one — a result that was far from guaranteed." Plazzi Marzotto added that the success also owed much to the logistics staff in Naples, who were simultaneously developing the base at Bagnoli. He noted that the early sailing sessions were valuable for gathering data on weather and sea conditions ahead of the September races and the 2027 Cup, and that Naples will also serve to test new sailors for the youth and women's line-ups.

Gilberto Nobili, Technology & Operations Director, said: "Both programmes are fundamental, and running them simultaneously requires everything to fit together perfectly. You need clarity on timing and sailing sessions for both the AC40s and the AC75, along with the respective maintenance windows. Then you have to organise boat transport, secure the support structures, and decide who moves: sailors, technicians, medical staff and support teams included."

Michele Cannoni, AC75 Boat Captain & Shore Team Director, added: "The Y&W team worked extremely hard to become self-sufficient and capable of handling any situation on their own. The two junior boat captains, together with the entire youth and women's team, are truly excellent, and each of them knows their role perfectly. It's no coincidence that as soon as the AC40s were unloaded from the ship, they were able to reassemble them in record time and start sailing immediately. This means having two teams that are 100% operational. It's a task that requires perfect coordination and full collaboration across all departments."
