Cantiere delle Marche appoints Filippo D. Buonpensiere as Sales Manager
Cantiere delle Marche has announced the appointment of Filippo D. Buonpensiere as Sales Manager, a move that forms part of the shipyard’s strategy to further strengthen its commercial capabilities and expand its presence in international markets.
Buonpensiere takes on the new role after six years within the company, during which he closely followed some of the most significant phases of the shipyard’s growth. His career began with hands-on operational work during school holidays before expanding to active participation in the world’s leading international boat shows, where he was involved in both yacht preparation and sales support. He later became involved in pre-owned yacht transactions, gaining experience in deal management and client relations.
Alongside his professional activity, Buonpensiere completed his academic education at IUM Monaco as an Honor Student, combining a six-month internship at Cantiere delle Marche with six months of study at a London-based institution. Commenting on the appointment, Cantiere delle Marche Founder and President Ennio Cecchini said: “Filippo represents the very best of what our company culture can produce. His career reflects not only technical expertise, but also a genuine passion for our craft and for the sea. He joins the Sales Department with the credibility that only authentic experience can provide.”
A sailor and surfer, Buonpensiere combines his professional expertise with a deep passion for the sea and the yachting industry. According to the shipyard, the appointment reflects its commitment to developing talent from within while preserving the owner-focused approach that remains one of the defining elements of the company’s philosophy.
Filippo D. Buonpensiere is the son of Vasco Buonpensiere, Chief Executive Officer and, together with Ennio Cecchini, co-founder of Cantiere delle Marche. Established in Ancona in 2010, the shipyard is today one of the world’s leading builders of luxury explorer yachts. In 2025, a majority stake in the company was acquired by CLP2, the holding company led by Giovanni Cagnoli (Carisma) and the Loro Piana family. Despite the change in ownership, Vasco Buonpensiere and Ennio Cecchini have remained shareholders and continue to lead the company’s strategic and operational development in their respective executive roles.
The PressMare editorial team congratulates Filippo D. Buonpensiere on his new appointment and extends its best wishes for every success in his new role and, in keeping with maritime tradition, fair winds.
