Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre set a new YCM Speed Record at the 2026 Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, reaching a speed of 51.05 knots. The result surpasses the record set by the same partnership a year earlier. In Italy, the brand is represented exclusively by Cantiere Nautico Feltrinelli.

In 2025, the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom had set the previous record, with an average speed of 49.84 knots over two runs on a one-kilometre course.

The 790 Spectre was designed around the electric propulsion system of the Porsche Macan Turbo. The battery, electric motor and charging electronics shaped the boat's development, affecting its construction, weight distribution and hull geometry, which was built new for this model.

With this record, the 790 Spectre becomes the fastest series-production electric boat in the world. The shipyard notes that it is not a prototype: the model is built for sale to private customers, with the same build quality as the rest of the Frauscher range.

"Beating the record we set just a year ago is an important result for our whole team," said Stefan Frauscher, CEO of the shipyard. "The 790 Spectre shows the potential of developing the boat, the hull and the electric propulsion system together."

The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, organised by the Yacht Club de Monaco at Port Hercule, is an event dedicated to sustainable boating technologies. Around 1,000 engineering students from more than 20 countries, including India and China, take part each year, designing, building and testing boats powered exclusively by clean energy before competing on the water.

Cantiere Nautico Feltrinelli, based in Gargnano sul Garda, marked the 100th anniversary of its current San Carlo site in 2019. It is run by the Feltrinelli family, present in the area and in shipbuilding since the late 15th century. It is the Italian importer of Frauscher hulls and an authorised Volvo Penta and MerCruiser workshop.

Frauscher Boats is an Austrian shipyard founded in 1927, producing motorboats with petrol, diesel and electric propulsion.
