Top System celebrates 25 years of innovation: Yacht Club Porto Rotondo pays tribute to the company’s journey
Yacht Club Porto Rotondo hosted the event celebrating the first twenty-five years of Top System, the company founded by brothers Vincenzo and Alessio Tuccio, now widely recognized for developing surface drive systems, propulsion technologies and engineering solutions for the yachting industry.
The anniversary brought together clients, yacht owners, designers, shipyards, collaborators and friends of the company, offering an opportunity to retrace the milestones of a journey that has led Top System to collaborate with many of the world’s leading yacht builders while progressively expanding its activities from propulsion systems to naval design, refit and yacht re-engineering.
The evening also provided an opportunity to reflect on the value of ideas and the ability to transform them into practical innovation, a philosophy that has guided Top System since its foundation and continues today through the development of surface propulsion systems, Seanfinity yacht design and refit and re-engineering projects.
Three boats moored along the Yacht Club quay symbolized key stages in the company’s evolution. The Mig 50 represented one of the first boats equipped with a Top System surface drive, marking the beginning of a technological journey that would shape the company’s identity. Alongside it, a Pershing 7X demonstrated the maturity achieved by the solutions developed by the Tuccio brothers and their adoption by some of the world’s leading yacht builders. Completing the display was a Seanfinity model, representing the latest stage in the group’s evolution, combining component and propulsion development with the design and construction of its own yachts.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of The Courage of Ideas, a book by journalist Angelo Colombo, which retraces the entrepreneurial story of the Tuccio brothers through documents, interviews and firsthand accounts, telling how a small artisan business grew into a respected name in Italian marine engineering.
The publication is not only the story of Top System’s first twenty-five years, but also a testimony to an approach based on curiosity, expertise and the continuous search for innovative solutions, values that have guided every stage of the company’s growth.
The choice of Yacht Club Porto Rotondo as the venue was no coincidence. Long regarded as a landmark for international yachting and a meeting place for yacht owners, professionals and companies in the sector, the Club provided the ideal setting to celebrate a business that, over the past twenty-five years, has contributed to the technological evolution of the Italian yachting industry. A fitting backdrop for an evening devoted to the dialogue between innovation, maritime culture and entrepreneurship.
The celebration concluded with a convivial gathering during which guests and protagonists shared memories, experiences and future projects, marking not only the company’s first twenty-five years but also the starting point for the challenges that lie ahead for Top System.
