Peter Morton’s Fast40+ Girls on Film won the Triple Crown series that sees competition over three days for three of the most prestigious trophies in the sailing world. He was presented with the Duke of Edinburgh Triple Crown Trophy, which is loaned from the Royal Collection.

Steve Warren-Smith and Stu Rix topped the 100-strong fleet to win the Squib National Championship, one point ahead of Nigel Grogan’s Helmut Shoing ll.

Phil Plumtree’s Half Tonner Swuzzlebubble dominated the front of IRC Class 5 to win with a day to spare ahead of Harry Heijst’s S&S41 Winsome.

Other notable performances include David Franks’ new J/112E Leon, overall winner of IRC Class 4, and Martin and Donna Rouse-Collen’s Andaxi, which won a tight three-way fight at the top of the Contessa 32 class.

Racing continues tomorrow to complete the series for the majority of the White Group dayboats, plus a slimmed down programmed for Black Group yachts that will be racing for daily trophies.
