A message from the President U.S. Melges 24 Class Association

This spring we watched racing come to an abrupt halt. Large events including our World Championship were cancelled amid COVID-19 outbreak. These decisions were made for the safety of the competitors, race officials, volunteers, as well as world travel restrictions. It has been difficult to be away from our boats, our friends, and the love we share for our sport. The good news is the horizon is looking brighter! Many districts have resumed club racing and would love to accommodate additional competitors. I have included a current schedule below.

Please take a look at it and see if there may be an event that in other years would not have made it onto your teams’ calendar. There are many beautiful places to sail in our great country, and this may be the year to explore them.

Know that each venue is going to great lengths to ensure proper protocols are followed to ensure everyone’s safety. Please reach out to each Regatta Chairman to find out what specific protocols will be in place. I look forward to life easing back to normal and seeing you back on the racecourse soon.
